Overworld Exit Problem

Hey! I'm currently editing the overworld in my hack, and I ran across this problem when exiting the Yoshi's Island sub-world. I believe I connected the exits properly, but when I try to get out of Yoshi's Island, it doesn't work at all. The music just resets, and Mario moves to the right and stops. Here is a picture:

My overworld is at the top, and Yoshi's Island is at the bottom. Please tell me if I connected the paths wrong.
Patches are very glitchy, try using pipes.
i just lurk sometimes
As far as I know, you can't have a horizontal exit connected to a vertical one. And patches aren't glitchy as long as you set them up properly.

I made the paths and exits straight, but it still doesn't work. Instead of changing screens, Mario stays on the same screen and goes down to the end of the sub-world. What's going on?
Unless I'm mistaken, I think each red exit path has a unique name for it and if more than one is referencing that path, it may cause a problem.

Pseudo Example
red1 = Yoshi Island Exit
red2 = Overworld1a Exit
red3 = Yoshi Island Exit

Since red1 and red3 have the same destination, there is a conflict.

If I'm wrong, oh well, it was a random thought that crossed my mind. Generally, when I did mess around with red path exits, I deleted all of them from the overworld and made sure when I created new ones they were done accordingly. That helped avoiding that problem.

I found the problem! Mario was off-centered on some level tiles, so I changed the paths around a bit, and the exits worked! Now, there's only one more problem: Why does it show Mario teleport to a random spot right when I'm entering exit tiles? I still enter in the right spot and direction, and everything else is fine, but right before I enter the subworld/overworld (when the screen blacks out), it shows Mario in this random spot. Any help is greatly appreciated, and thanks for all the help so far everyone!

Have you tried opening an empty save and playing your way up until you reach the exit? To shorcut this I normally either make a temporary path going straight to the exit to test it, or make every level up to it finish where it starts.

Yeah, I erase my save file every time I test the Overworld. Since none of the levels in my first submap have no secret exits, I use a gameshark code that allows me to beat a level and unlock its normal exit as soon as I start the level.

I think the entrance has to be from an angle prior to the exit. So exit right, enter right. Exit up, Enter up. Exit left, Enter left. Exit Down, enter down.

Also, that gameshark code, can I haz?

The exits are lined up properly; it's just that, unlike Nintendo's exit transitions where Mario disappears entirely until the new subworld/overworld comes up, Mario is shown at a random spot on the map before transitioning to the new subworld/overworld. I'll try to put up an example tomorrow.

As for the gameshark code: 0BCD-AF6F

I use this code on ZSNES version 1.51, so I'm not sure how it will work with other versions. The code brings Mario up to the bonus stage that you would normally go to with Yoshi Wings. If you fall off, it will act just like you beat the normal exit to the level.
Using red exit tiles have been giving me grief since I started making my first overworld. I try to make as many exits with pipes simply because they give me less attitude. When my tiles decide to glitch out, I try to remap them to a different pair (as in 0A and 0B instead of 02 and 03.

The pro4blem I always run into with this, however, is that when I try to put a new exit tile where the old one used to be, the exit settings snap back to the previous settings that were glitching in the first place. Editing my paths to move an exit tile up or over one tile isn't exactly practical, so is there a way to completely wipe out all of the exit tile settings, like hitting Ctrl+Del in the level editor?
Here are pictures of my problem:

Please don't mind the messed up Overworld. The exit tile on the overworld is slightly below the castle, and the exit tile on the sub-world is slightly to the right of the castle. As you can see, when I enter an exit tile, Mario just goes to these random spots before transitioning to the submap/overworld. I'm not sure why this is happening, but It would be greatly appreciated if anyone can help.

Sorry for double posting, but does anyone know why this is happening?
I never had a problem with the bridges, but you'd probably be better off using pipes.
Sorry, but I can't use pipes because I drew out my entire overworld on paper and used them all up. Can you think of any other solutions?
