Mod please move to the Noob section!

Can someone explain MikeyKs Birdo on how to insert it?? Is the an ExGFX for it. Also, I cannot fiquer how out and where to put the egg and stuff!!

You insert sprites using spritetool. The exgfx should come with it and is found in the "tilemaps" folder. The egg should go right after the birdo if its a seperate file.

Here's a small tutorial on how to use mikey's spritetool.

1. Put the asm and cfg files into the sprites folder (or a different one if the readme says so). The birdo is already in there.

2. Open up "sprites".txt (create one if not included) and enter a number in hex, followed by the name

3 Put your ROM in the same folder as spritetool

4. Run spritetool and enter the name of your ROM, and add ".smc" after it. Now press enter.

5. Enter the name of your list and then put ".txt" after it. (List is usualy called "sprites", so you'd type "sprites.txt" and press enter.

6.Press enter if it says "Sprites inserted Succesfully". If it has an error messgage , then press enter and find what you did wrong.

7. Open your ROM in Lunar Magic and enter sprite editing mode (Green Shell)

8. {Press shift=insert and a message you show up.

9. In first box enter the number you put in your list back at step 2.

10. In the last box enter 2 (or 3 if it uses the extra bit)

Your sprite will now appear in the top left corner of the level for you to move and insert more. Note that they look glitched in lunar magic, but not in the game (unless you forgot to insert and enable the ExGFX for the sprite).
Your layout has been removed.
How do I enable the GFX, that is what confuses me!

When you finished inserting the ExGFX, save it into your ExGFX folder and load up Lunar Magic, then click "insert exgfx to rom."

That should be it. And in order to insert the sprite in the first place, you need to manualy insert it in hex. This is done by pressing insert, then type in the hex number of your sprite (I dont know Birdo's hex number) and click insert. The sprite will look like garbage in Lunar Magic but in the game it should look fine.

Wait, is Birdo the fire sprite or the egg? Cause if its the egg, Im pretty sure thats part of it. If not, are you sure you Inserted the sprite in sprite Tool? And, make sure you have type in the correct Hex value too.
To enable ExGFX you have to click the bypass graphics header, or the red mushroom. Once the window appears you have to find out specifically which sprite graphics the Birdo sprite uses, whether this is SP1, 2, or 3. Once you find this out select the dropdown list that your sprite pertains to and select the ExGFX which you already should have inserted in your ExGFX folder. The sprite graphic should still appear the same however when you open it in an emulator the sprite should be fine.
