How long must you have been in smwc to be considered a vet?
Posted on 2009-08-14 06:51:38 PM
Many, many years. Maybe 3 years?

As of now? Probably since it opened, or close to that.
If we're still around a couple of years down the road, then it will be a different story.

I've been here before the wipe, but I dunno if a couple of ears is enough to call someone a veteran.
EDIT: lol I registered the same day as SNN :p

I have followed this site a lot more than you think i have.
I would not consider me as a veteran though, because of the insanely long breaks i've had.
Also, to consider you a vet, i guess like one and a half year from this sites creation.

People consider me a vet, I think, though I don't consider myself as one.
Although I was here before SMWC started to suck.

Before the wipe sounds like a good time to put it.
But why would being on SMWC allow you to become a veterinarian. --------------------
May we meet again outside the battlefield.

For the most part, I consider "veterans" as people who have been here since before SMWC was created, as mentioned, but it seems like very few of those individuals remain. Heck, there are a lot less pre-wipe people around as well, so I start to see people who have been around before than as fairly long-term.
Of course, how users have changed over time is more important to me than anything else. There could be someone who's been around for years, yet has improved little or none over time, or someone who's been here shortly but caught on quickly.

For me, I would consider being a mod or having a high amount of posts to be a veterin. Being a mod means that you've been around for a while, and are fairly skilled in hacking. Post counts also show who has been around for a while based on how many posts they made, and you can assume how long a person has been here, however, sometimes that is not the case.

Above statement is not true.

You can make 20 posts a day like Ultimaximus, or you can have only 100 posts in years. Doesn't show how long you've been on the site.

Well let's see. I was 10 when I signed up and now i'm almost 12. So i'd say about 2 years. --------------------

1 year, when Sagittaire was a mod. Good good times.
So, i'm a semi-vet. --------------------
they say... i forgot

If you're old enough to wonder who the fuck made your first hundred or so posts than you're probably a vet.
My take on the situation.
Also... wow it's like 2 years since the wipe... that really doesn't seem like that long ago. -------------------- Your layout has been removed.
