Man kills girl's cat with bow and arrow, gets jail time
A St. Charles man was upset that a visiting cat was eating birds in his yard and ruining his garden. So he decided to take the cat out with a bow and arrow.
The cat belonged to a young girl and now the cat killer, Ajalon Thomas Corcoran, 24, will spend 21 days in jail. He will also be on probation for four years for his animal mistreatment.
His defense attorney claims he didn't know the cat was a pet and the statute requires proof that he knew the cat was domesticated before he can be guilty.
The family who lost their cat will receive $193 in restitution for their loss.
I sort of laughed at this. Yup. Blast those cats and their destruction of gardens everywhere. And $193...seriously. I've never seen so much money in one place. [/sarcasm]
But in all seriousness, that was low for the man. Call animal control, dude. Not taking a bow and arrow and going 12th century on the cat.

I use a bow and arrows... You should be careful about what you say, since it could be hurtful.
He should pay a fine to the owner of the cat, but the cat's owner should also pay a fine for letting its cat tresspass on other people's property. I am getting tired of these dumb cats that can not tell the difference between a garden and a litter box. However, killing the cat is a bit extreme (even moreso when he did not make himself a soft hat (just joking)).

Stuff like this is flat-out depressing and sad to see. If the cat was really such a problem, the guy should've talked to its owners instead of killing it on the spot like that. It's a total waste of life, and my sympathies go out to the girl who owned it.

^ Exactly. Yes it was extream but its not like he beat it to a bloody pulp and then beat the owners with the body. O_o

Anyways, sadly, I hear about stuff like this quite frequently. It surprises me how poor judgment people have. I know your judgment gets bad in a moment of anger or frustration, but killing the poor thing was a bit harsh.

its so sad for the family to lose their cat. the man is an idiot for killing a cat, just because its in his yard. He couldve at least made it get out of his garden, instead of killing it.

I know that you hate this man, but a lifetime sentence is harsh even for killing a cat
