Eureka Seven

Has anyone here watched Eureka Seven? It's my favourite Anime of all time, so I'll start off by introducing it here. God, I've watched this Anime so many and still was amazed by the end everytime I did that. In fact today I just odered the first DVD box set containing episodes 1-25 (out of 50).

The Anime has really everything you expect from a good Anime: A complex story, deep character developement and an awesome soundtrack. Seriously! Additionaly to that it has a lot of Romance and good battles, although the battles don't take over the whole Anime. There are only the battles that are necessary and actually move the story forward, nothing else.

At first this Anime will seem like just another Shounen or Mecha Anime to you. But trust me: This Anime is NOT Shounen, nor is it Mecha. Just keep watching, even if the first few episodes turn you off (which hopefully won't be the case, for me it wasn't). The Mecha elements get less during the Anime, so don't worry about that. In fact I don't like Mecha myself. The Shounen elements also disappear after a few episodes or at least are minimized.

There also is a movie of Eureka Seven with an alternate storyline. I think it also turned out quite awesome, but I don't recommend you to start with it. You won't get the whole experience fromt he Anime, simply because of the lack of character developement (you can't fit 50 episodes of character developement in a 1:30 hours film). Also the storyline of the movie will be too hard to follow for you if you haven't watched the Anime, even if it's an alternative.

So yeah, anything else to add? No, except for WATCH THE ANIME! Seriously, you won't regret!

Also even though this is a discussion thread, please try to keep the spoilers inside here as low as possible. I don't want the experience of the Anime spoiled for anyone :) !
Feel free to visit my website/blog - it's updated rarely, but it looks pretty cool!
I've also watched this anime once completely, and I recall it being rather good, although it has parts that get kind of confusing. It's certainly worth watching though. I would not call it a "Mech" anime, I would call it an anime with "Mech" elements. It's certainly got a good story and enjoyable characters, and is worth watching.

That being said, I don't fully remember everything that happens, so I can't really discuss it at length.

Yes, the story is very complex. Actually you have to watch the Anime multiple times to get the story completely, but in my opinion that just makes the Anime even greater. Every time I watch it I find some new details the make the Anime more awesome!

+6 Years mega Bump!
I watched Eureka Seven AO first (i didn't even knew there's the original) and I was really impressed, even though Fans seem to dislike it because it's not as deep as the original.
To be fair, the first show is better, but if you haven't watched it at all, try AO first. Trust me, you will enjoy it way more.
As for the first show, I really liked the characters and the show really had it's moments.

It's a good show and every one should go watch it!
