Just throwing out another friendly reminder: keep the discussion in this thread, the other is for IPS patches only. Despite being in bold, I've already noticed a couple posts there that should've belonged here.
Yeah, I posted there, but realized my mistake and deleted it.
Hello,
so the way I understand this is, is that it is one level, and there is no limit to the length of the level, but if it gets too long, they will stop playing it. Also, it will be judged mostly on level design, but do you we have to change the overworld to do well or that won't affect it if we don't do it? I don't know how to make ASM and the screen flash and things like that, but I can try to make a good level. Do you assume you can only use Level 105 or can you make it lead to another level exit and have that level lead to another one like in the original game or does it have to use a certain plot to be good? if you know what I mean. I am not good at thinking about plots and things, and then I'n afraid people will say it's boring, but I was thinking of doing the automatic thing in one part and then doing something else in another part, for example.

I have to enter this. I may not have a chance against certain other people, but it will still be interesting. The last level design contest I entered didn't go so well...but at least one, maybe a couple of the problems I had with it could have been fixed with patches.
This will sure be difficult to judge...so many people, such varying designs...
Yeah, we only are getting judged on everything in the level, right? A new overworld won't get us any points?Just back here to browse a bit.
A free-for-all level creation contest? One must wonder at the possibilities... Or shiver... Who knows what could come forth? A complete remake of DKC2's Bramble Blast level, including edited instruments for Stickerbrush Symphony... Or a Rick-Roll level that you cannot escape, for it prevents you from closing the program...
Well, I'm exaggerating, but you never know ^^Follow me on Hermitscape for random bits of game design talk and pixel art, or even request something for me to draw. Latest Post:Wayra Devpost #2: "A Little New"
Im proberly going to make a vanilla level, but you can bet all the map 16 will be used...
Should we post the whole ROM (as an IPS file, of course) or just an MWL file (as an IPS)?
Btw, I think I'll be entering this contest. I just submitted a hack but it was deleted and I realized it actually was too uncompleted from couple areas. Maybe I'll get my chance here...Your layout has been removed.

Since when can you put asm, map16, hex edits, and exgfx in an MWL file?
(read: It's the whole ROM (but yeah, it's IPS))<blm> zsnes users are the flatearthers of emulation

Thanks, that's good to know as I'm still pretty much on the learning phase...Your layout has been removed.

Yeah I was wondering that too.IRC Quotes (March 20th update!)
A new overworld won't get you any points. It is a level contest, after all.
That sucks, I already made a nice submap.
It's really not a big deal, though.
I join. Maybe I won't be in the last place.
IF I make a level at all, it would be filled with gimmicks...
...but seeing as it's unlikely I'll make a level at all anyway, this comment can be seen as null and void.
Good luck to anyone who will participate! I am sure some of you will do very well.--------> Don't follow "Find Roy's Dignity", my hack. Because it's pretty outdated. <--------
