Ban requests

We are not your caretakers. If you want to leave the site, then leave. There is no need to PM someone asking for an account deactivation, because if it takes that much to get you to leave, you must not want to go that badly anyway.

In a nutshell, do not request bans from us. This was already stated in the news, but it deserves it's own thread due to it occurring more frequently as of late.

Thank you for your understanding.
Seriously. I'm getting very tired of these, and most of the time, the person asking to leave just comes back later, and only tries to draw attention/drama. If you have finals or other school assignments, I'd recommend just blocking SMWC entirely, or better yet, just avoid going to it until you're done. I realize it can be a distraction, but there comes a point where self-restraint becomes an important skill.

I'd also like to point out that I've received a couple PM's requesting alternate accounts to be disabled. It has been stated time and time again that you may create ONE account. Reregistering to make a spam account for fun or downvote certain hacks is not acceptable. When caught, reregs like this will be disabled, and the creators of such accounts will be temporarily or permanently banned depending on the severity.
What if you want to have a 24 hour ban just to see what it's like?

Why would you want that. It would be boring.

Being banned just removes your posting and editing abilities, there's nothing "to see". The point of this thread was to inform you that we won't be accepting ban requests for when you leave the website, go on holidays or even, as stupid as it may sound, if you have too much homework. Oh, and every other reason you can think of.

God gave us will power, it's a shame so many people don't use it.

That's what the Advanced forum is for. Just make a stupid post in an intelligent thread and there you go (speaking of experience here, except that my post was treated like a "postcount++"-post rather then a stupid post plus I only got banned for 6 hours instead of 24).
Feel free to visit my website/blog - it's updated rarely, but it looks pretty cool!

While I find this a hilarious suggestion, I'd like it if nobody tried that. :P As Blu said, there's nothing to see.
Yeah, my suggestion was also rather sarcastic then serious, but you are right. Before someone actually tries that and I have to take responsibility for it it's better to clear up everything.

Though it's discouraged, people can decide to go out with a bang, and they'll receive what they deserve for doing that. In doing so though, they close a door they may try to scramble and open later. Without ban requests, if someone's tired of SMWC and no longer wants to be there, they can just leave and come back if they ever change their minds.
Asides from the obvious spammers that spam stuff like "dicks" and "moons," I don't think a 'permaban' has lasted on this site for a year.

Ban requests probably don't have to do with will power as much as it does with drama mongering.
It makes no difference if one person out of here, no need to disable any account, only if it is banned or something, or two accounts (as in my case).

Yeah this is pretty much almost every case of a ban request.

*announces that he no longer wants to be a part of the community, requests ban, makes it public obviously*
*soaks up all the "bawww it just won't be the same with you user ID _________"*
*figures that he doesn't want to leave after all! Funny how that works huh*
Yeah, and some people want a person banned for he/she being proved wrong, which is weird.
Hi! I'm dead!

I had a rhetorical thought. Let's say someone requests a ban constantly, and it gets annoying. How would you punish them?
