I don't think it is in any staff member's power to completely remove an account (or not easily anyway).

Ban requests are stupid anyway. The only reason people request bans is to help themselves stay away from the site, but that's a pretty stupid reason and it might not even work. I'm pretty sure you don't need an account to look at stuff on the site.

Will there be a punishment for requesting bans? Can anybody even figure out a punishment that actually punishes them in a way (instead of just insulting them)?
May we meet again outside the battlefield.
I remember, vaguely, that Kieran said completely removing a user from the database isn't how the website works, in other words, you can't do that. I guess it's how the site is coded that stops you from doing so.

Regarding punishments, we can easily refuse their ban and basically tell them to f*** off. Thing is, the user can easily continue nagging until we eventually ban them for being an idiot, but don't get any ideas. :<

E: Naggy Alcaro is naggy.

I had a rhetorical thought. Let's say someone requests a ban constantly, and it gets annoying. How would you punish them?

I would fire an HTML ban missile at that user. IIRC, an HTML ban can't be undone.

Another option is simply ignoring the user.
My blog. I could post stuff now and then

My Assembly for the SNES tutorial (it's actually finished now!)
Ooh, ooh, I've got an idea for a punishment! Make it so their posts only show up to them, and for all intents and purposes, it looks like they're posting normally, BUT, for everyone else, their posts just don't show up. They're invisible. Evil, yes?

(Disclaimer: I'm not taking any credit, responsibility, or acknowledgment of this)

I second that idea!

Okay then, I want a ban, so I'll repeatedly PM Kieran for no good reason until he bans me for being an idiot! (shot)

That's the strangest idea ever. I like it.
Good fucking bye.

HTML ban is were you can't use any HTML anywhere releting to your stuff (layout, bio, html posts) right?

Or does it make it so all HTML is disable on the site and all you will see is a big mess of HTML code >:D
Your layout has been removed.
The first, but based on that emoticon, I'd say you knew that. DarthRiko's the only HTML banned member, so one can look at his posts to see how it works.

So THAT'S why his posts messed up whenever he tried to quote somebody or whatever. I was wondering what that was about when reading them...

Same, I always wondered why the sample post was messed up in his profile.Free counters!
I made a thread about it months ago in The Site, dig it up if you can. There's also an Announcement thread around here dealing with the event, but I don't think discussion about it is allowed here...

To be exact, I didn't design this site with being able to delete users in mind. If one deleted a user, the site would literally curl up and die.
Not to mention quoted posts would still exist

Please please please IP ban me
I legitimately forgot this thread existed, but I know I've seen it before. The mind is bizarre, indeed.
