I agree with the barely changed part, but it is actually somewhat decent looking. I think you could do a better job than using SMW's original BG palette, though. I also think you should change the sprite palette while you're at it, to something more fitting the slightly duller colors you're using currently, too.

@Austin I actually like that a lot! Has a very "Nice Day" feeling to it if you know what I mean. Nice work.
@MarioFan22: I'm feeling some beach palette here. Nice work on that palette, and it fits with the status bar.
@Austin: The palette is good, but it's a little plain using only SMW's palette.
Thanks for the comments guys. This palette is really supossed to be plain. But I was changed the background palette for the original 0. Yes, I'm uninspired to create a new one, I just wanna know what's better.

If you do want a demonstration:

Well, I know your palette is supposed to be plain, but why don't use different ground colors or different bush colors, will be more aesthetic.

Why not make the grass dark green, making it look more humid/alive?
Why not make the dirt brow, and not bright brown, wich also looks dry.
At themoment it looks a tad colder(bluer) than SMW's original palette.

hey i like it. if you're just going for grassland you don't have to impress. reminds me a lot of the grassland palettes noon is always making. with the light brown dirt and blue-green grass. it looks nice.
Thanks for the comments you all, again. I decided to stay with this palette, because I have no idea for others. Also I have one for the cave. I won't showoff all of the hack palettes, but opinions are good.

Pretty sure I already made one better, and lost it... Also yes. I can't make a FG palette here :P
yeah, that background palette is pretty cool, but how about making a two color gradient, like Dark brown to green?
that's just an advice but yeah, that one is nice anyways
It fits with the FG pretty well, even though it's not as bright as the ground. I also agree with Spy, a two color-gradient is the best type of gradient for cave BGs in my opinion.

I have a few palletes that I want to show off.

A nice red pallete for volcaninc areas.

A bright underwater pallete. /Gradient not included/

A grassy pallete. Ideal for grassland levels.

And a night pallete for nightly adventures.

These are the palletes. If you want any of them, please send me a PM, as they're used in my hack.

Note: These palletes override everything, so you must use the same background image as in the screenies.
WELL.

The first one, is...well, i won't misword but it looks more like a ketchup underground lake than a volcanic cave.
also the background goes from a bright red to a dark blue and this is pretty eye-searing

for the night palette, if you really want to create a dark atmosphere, you should also edit the sprites and other objects (not just the ledges), like making a light grey as a replacement for the white color.
-In the first one, grey-black ground would look ALOT better than its current pinkish tone.
-A tad too bright, and could easyly profit from aditional contrast...
-uhm... yellow dirt and orange grass dont look too grassy, but more fall-ish
-Try to make a diference betwen the grass and dirt, don't leave both of them blue.

The FG from the first and the second are bad. The third, eh, red and green, I know not what it means but not so bad. About the fourth, a darker blue in the borders should be fine.
The lava is a bit too dark and the FG is kind of too light.
The second one is fine but a bit too bright
3rd one is fine too but i kind of don't like the ground
4th is good but the "!" box is kind of eye-searing

Here's mine, Is it at least "ok"?
Aouzy: Both the FG & BG palettes look too similar to each other. It would be a bit boring having everything just purple.

Here's a palette I've done for a lava cave:

How does it look?
@Aouzy: what MarioFan said AND well, the ground border palette (where Mario walks, eh) is too brigther, it's supposed to be darker than the ground.

@MarioFan22: it looks fine, but I don't like the Status Bar palette editon. Why don't you edit just the item box?
@MarioFan22: Your palette looks very good and the status bar palette seems a bit strange but it's palette is good too.

@Aouzy: Your palette seems ok but it's a bit strange, maybe using gradient in colors or make them bright can work, but it's ok.

It divides by zero.
On topic: It's awesome. Love the orange/red/yellow.

This palette should fit to a polluted level, which could fit to a world 8 level. What do you think about this?
