I'm glad I finished World S right at the beginning. ;P

Im starting to feel meh about this game. Some of the levels are just to hard for me. They mix challenging gimmicks to make harder gimmicks, roller coaster galaxy for example had a purple coin comet and was timed and you had to control the fucking ball. ¬¬

Its starting to make the orignal seem better, I would trade diffculty and challenge for something like SMG1's hardeness. It was possible but had hard points.

ANother example is SMG1's Luigi's Purple Coins. Hard but possible. You where timed and really the time didnt do much. Then in SMG2 they re-use and re-make the level harder by adding less time,making you get all the coins,and adding cosmic clones.

After awhile the game runs out of "fun galaxys" and evntully your left with the ball busting ones which you hate.

The game is good but relies to much on gimmicks.
Nintendo needs to get back with the SM64 stuff.

MEGA RANT OVA!

The toughest one for me was the last Green Star in Melty Monster Galaxy with Rock Mario. Yeah, I know others may think it was easy, but it was tricky for me. I couldn't decide whether it was better to jump off the platform and grab the star or just let Rock Mario roll off into it. I went back and forth between each strategy about 20 times before I finally got it. There goes my final death count through the roof.

All other Green Stars recently haven't been too daunting. The last two on the slide of Slipsand Galaxy took a few tries each, as you really have to line yourself up properly as you can miss them by a hair. I even grabbed the two in Fleet Glide Galaxy. The first one was easy, right at the beginning. The second one was a little harder. Didn't find it on my first try, but I did on my second. Still, it took a few tries to get that one as well, because you can also miss that one by a hair if you're not aiming properly.

Twenty more to go. I really want to play Grandmaster Galaxy. It better be worth the trouble.
It...is worth the trouble, in a way. I couldn't beat it. Parts are easy, the fifth section is torture, and I gave up on the sixth. How anyone could do this with one wedge of health is quite beyond me.

Grandkaizo Grandmaster is one of the toughest challenges a Mario game has brought me, but at least the Toads make some great self-depricating comments throughout.

Or you could just go all the way to the goal, hit the block in the corner, and then long-jump back to the main course and the star. That's how I did it.

Hey, what exactly are green stars anyway? I've heard a lot about them, but I have no idea what they are.

EDIT: And I just got to world 4.

You unlock Green Stars in all galaxies after collecting the first 120. They appear in random, and sometimes tricky and well-hidden spots in each galaxy. Collect all of those to unlock the final galaxy.
I'm setting aside SMG2 and its final star for awhile. I'm quite galaxied out, and I can't believe that only a month ago I had never played this game.

Talk about rocketing through another Mario adventure.
Thanks Jacob. I just beat the fourth world a little bit ago, and I can already tell you the final boss is going to be another crappy bowser remake, which sucks. I don't mind it too much, but you'd think it would kill Nintendo to make an original final bowser fight. At least this bowser isn't as bad as the one in the first game.

EDIT: uh, 1,000 is coming faster than expected. cool.
I also now have 241 stars.

I'm honestly surprised at how little trouble I had with most of the Green Stars in World S. I was even able to get both in Rolling Coaster Galaxy with just one death. In contrast, the second Green Star in Flip-Out Galaxy was very difficult because of those annoying Cosmic Clones.

Grandmaster Galaxy definitely lives up to its name. Even its first star is quite difficult; it took at least 4 or 5 tries to get through to that first star. I made it through, though, Comet Medal and all.

I'm now down to the last star. Yep, the Perfect Run. I won't try it yet, though, since it's late and I'm already pretty tired.

I'm probably retired tbh
OMG, Green Stars 2 & 3 in Hightail Falls Galaxy were just EVIL! I had to commit Yoshi abuse by sacrificing him just to get the third one.

153 Stars now.

And I just love the music in Cosmic Cove Galaxy, so relaxing. #w{=3}
236/240

In the home stretch now.

I finally beat both Fluzzard galaxies 100%. So glad to finally be free of those awful levels.

Let's see...two more stars in Honeyhop, one more star in the World 3 castle, and then I gotta go back and do the dreaded one in Flip-Out. Damn you, Cosmic Clones.
190/240 - Almost 80% done now.

Bloody hell, that 3rd Green Star in Flipsville Galaxy was annoying to get. It's really hard to see where you are falling and there are no 1UPs nearby either then the Luma suggests getting P2 to assist because I had a tough time in that level. How would a 2nd Player help with getting the Star?!

Next up is W4 Bowser and I also have 7287 Star Bits. Not much to go to 9999!

Oh and I'm NOT looking forward to doing Stone Cyclone Galaxy again! #w{x(}
Well...241/242.

That was quite an enjoyable final galaxy, plenty of different challenges. Surely beats the original SMG's reward for collecting all stars.

I didn't get the Comet Medal, though. I actually beat those Boomerang Bros a few times and triggered the star, but then when I tried to go back to get the Comet Medal, I kept getting knocked off the platform by the Hammer Bro. So I said fuck it and just got the star.

I can't imagine how I'll beat it on the Daredevil Run. I'm confident I can pass the first three sections without getting hit, but those last three will be really challenging, especially the Hammer Bro section.
215/240 Stars and 7331 Star Bits (hehe, backwards 1337!) + 2528 in the bank.

The 3rd GS in Shiverburn Galaxy was just plain EVIL! It was above a cloud, not even triple jump could reach it and you have to get there WITH THE CLOUD FLOWER! #w{x(}
Shit, I couldn't get that Comet Medal in Grandmaster Galaxy for the life of me. Whenever I'd try to get to the platform that the medal is next to, I kept getting hit by a Hammer Brother. That's only when I was lucky enough to get close to that platform. The rest of the time, I'd fall to my death after getting hit by another Hammer Brother. Tossed out over 10 lives there, and got a Game Over.

Oh well. Is it even worth it to unlock the Daredevil mission, which I'm probably not going to even win seeing as I'm having so much trouble with this?
For some reason, I found shooting Star Bits to actually be a help in the final level. Just spam them to constantly stun the Hammer Bros.

Or just get a partner. My friend wanted to play co-op on SMG2, and he told me to go to the last level. The level was easy as chicken.
Im gonna do the star bit and maybe the player 2 sthing on the last level when I eventully get to it. Also I have a new tactic when Im playing, only go to the luma shop on planet mario when your have a long go on SMG2. If your on for ten mins then you waste any lives you get.

Still on 105 stars...

Come on Jacob, you've made it this far! You can't give up now. For the boomerang bros, try to time your jumps that you land on their platforms in between their throwing periods. Just spin into them to send them flying into space. If you need extra help, shoot star bits at them. I prefer to use star bits on the boomerang bros, but if you have health to spare, then you should be able to handle them.

The daredevil mission was tough, no doubt about that. I only made it to the last part 2 times, with the third time being the time I actually won. The hardest part for me was the part after the cloud flower portion. After a few tries though, I got comfortable with the lasers and was able to time my jumps to avoid them properly. The part after that was very simple honestly. I never had a problem with that part on the first star too.
I'll try a few more times. If I keep on dying, I'll just put it aside...241 stars is enough. At least I've seen all the galaxies.

I'm surprised I maintained enough interest to get this far. I only got a little over 100 stars in the original SMG. I got bored of the purple coin challenges and didn't feel like replaying the same game with Luigi. At least with SMG2, there was a better variety of Comets, and the Green Stars were pretty fun.
