Mode 7 hitbox rotation?

Is it possible to rotate hitboxes using Mode 7? Or is Mode 7 only for graphics?

A few days ago, I was thinking about that rotating ground in the trailer of New SMB Wii and I wondered if that could be done on SMW.
I have no idea what to change my layout it to...

Yeah, Mode 7 is just a graphics mode, so it can only rotate graphics, not stuff like hitboxes and such (unless I'm mistaken)

Plus, you can totally make a ghetto version of the rotating ground. Just have animated ground that moves you like a conveyor, and have a slope like that on the ends.

You can also make a dynamic sprite, I guess, that acts like it. Though it would be too complicated, so just stick with the ghetto version.
The graphics are the easy part. Behind the scenes interaction stuff has to be done manually, all the math required to rotate mario's position relative to some origin etc.
