Wow. Your graphics and levels are beautiful! Your overworlds are very good too! In the last screenshot, the level look is like in fortress of world 2.

Haha wow I wasn't expecting such good feedback! and also, the "Looks Familar" was indicating the small portion of SMB 1-1.
Wow - this looks really really impressive. I can't wait to see more. Your BGs with their HDMA effects are really great. I would say the only part I'm not too fond of at this point is the Main OW - it doesn't really match the rest of the graphics.
WOW! I like everything I see so far. The only problem I can see is that the water in the second and fifth screenshots is *slightly* cut off.
I'm not sure how to fix that without removing it, or changing my water GFX >.< if it won't pass through moderation, then obviously I'll fix it, but as of now, it's staying.

Personally, I don't think that is much of a big deal... I would quite likely accept your hack if you left your water tiles like that (assuming that I don't possibly stumble upon anything that seems off throughout the game, of course).
Anyway, this hack really caught my attention. I'm really liking the graphics you are using there, not to mention that those HDMA effects really give a nice touch to pretty much everything. Level design also looks pretty solid, especially in that cave level.
I really don't have anything to complain about, other than possibly the main overworld, which looks a bit too "empty" at this point, in my opinion - try throwing in some more decorations, and you should be all good.
But yeah, apart from that, this looks like a lot of fun - keep up the good work!

Why not just move the ground tiles one the edges of the water up one?

I was thinking of that, but it would kind of completely change the whole area because I'd have to move the entire layer of ground up. If it looks alright, I think I'm going to keep it as it is.
Another suggestion would be to use the wrong corner tile, aka the one with dirt behind it. It's still cutoff, but It might look a little better. I'm not sure though. I really like the Ice cave btw!
This is extremely impressive. It dosen't even look like a SMW hack in the main levels, probably because of how the HUD is. I love it. all of the HDMA compliments the levels and overworlds really well, and it looks really fun to play.
