Just a Twist of Events...(New Submaps)

Name is just a placeholder(for now).
This hack stars Luigi, since I like green and Mario sucks. :p
The plot so far;
Luigi returns home expecting Mario, but Mario isn't there!
This scares him since there has been a lot of disappearances recently.
So Luigi goes out and enjoys some freedom for a bit, then finds out that Mario has actually brainwashed the whole Mushroom Kingdom!
Turns out Bowser is actually the good guy, and Mario is just a sadistic plumber who brought a pretty princess from some other place.
So Luigi wants to help Bowser get back his kingdom, and stop Mario's devastating plan to take over and preform a mass genocide on the Kingdom...
Anyways, here is some screenshots...


Outside of Boo's Mansion, a level in World 3 that you don't have to finish(Like Yoshi's Village/Luigi's Abode, it has a bunch of powerups, no enemies despite the screenshot, and side exit enabled.)

Airship of Zephyr, final level in World 7. Before this level is a fortress, and you start this level outside said fortress, to pursue an Airship.(As you can see, I'm not going in any order, I just don't work that way)

Another level like Boo's Mansion/Luigi's Abode/Yoshi's Village.

Abnormal Acres, a secret level.


Second last level in the third world.


Fool's Hideout, Fifth level in the third world, left of Boo's Mansion.


This level's boss will have Cirno's theme and stars Lemmy Koopa.

So that's it for now.
Maybe expect a demo within a few weeks.
Also if anyone knows where I based the main overworld off of, you win a cookie.

If anyone is feeling bored, play around with this very beta patch of this hack.
I love your overworld! My only complaints would be the palette in the 6th screen, and that the changed white clouds on the overworld look bad. Other than that, this looks very nice. I also love the 3D water perspective in the 3rd and 4th screens.

Give Mario some love?~

The only thing that bugs me about that OW is the transition from cliffs to water on that top island. I can see you are trying to create a slope, but it is way too much of a change.
Everything else looks pretty good... but what is on that Chargin Chuck?

Oh, also the berries in the 1st screen cut off the rest of the dirt patterns, which looks odd

I finished the forest/second world's map.
This area has nine levels, 3 of them secret(2 are needed to get farther in the game).
Wow... That's so cool

I like it.
But there are some downsides
On the left side you see the flower thingy, it's black. I don't think that looks good.

Same with the other one

Make the right one a bit longer

If that's fixed, this will be an awesome submap

Oh yeah, this hack. I was going to post sooner but business got me.

The plot... is weird, but very, very interesting. I really like the twist (hoho) in the plot, which makes the regualr good guy the bad guy and vise versa.

Screens
1) Everything looks good there. I like how it's the outside of the mansion. The berries kind of cutoff the texture in the dirt, though.

2) Effing kidding me? I LOVE your overworlds. The only thing I can see wrong (and it seems like this happens to a lot of people) is that you didn't decorate the water, which looks bland.
Other than that though, your overworld is fantastic.

3+4) Once again, I like the use of being outside the castle/fortress. The castle underwater in the background looks kind of odd in perspective, but none the less, looks cool.

5+6) The level looks good, but on the overworld the blue plateau there has a weird perspective on the cliffs. It's like you forgot to add the cliffs on the corner.

7)Abnormal Acres? Awesome name. I like the pink tinge. Makes it look very cool.

8)
Once again, on the right side of each island there, you made a perspective error. I like the fuzzies and muncher, though.

9-11) I like the overall feel of this level. The palette is very nice.

12) The upside down ledge still has texture on it, and looks a little of out place. Other than that, it looks good.

13) Yeah, once again, I love our overworlds/submaps. Nice.

Very nice job you've done here. Can't wait for more.

This is a pretty cool hack. I am curious to know, on the 3rd and 4th screens, that if that castle level is going to be playable?
Going to agree with the previous posts - you have a pretty nice looking overworld. The graphical style of it is really interesting, and the general design of it is full of detail and skill. Well done.

I don't really like that pink building thing in the "Abnormal Acres" screen (looks out of place), but the rest seems decent.
Yeah, I'm liking the looks of this hack so far, Jayfeather! I too am confused at what the Chuck's head and other sprites there with it are supposed to be, but the graphics and design thus far look pretty solid to me. And, I'm digging your Overworld. The cottages and sprites, assuming they are sprites, are pretty amazing. Particularly, I like how you used the fade-out on the submap as a border. Fantastic job!

If you mean the background castle, no, but the one on the foreground is playable(It's the level before that one)
