Yellow Block Palace pops back up

I have the event set to make the overworld switch press down and it works. It'll press down and I can't enter the level, but as soon as I play another level or leave that area of the OW map, it comes back up and is playable again. In the Yoshi's Island area of the OW I have a tunnel that leads to the main OW map where the switch is (it's the only way I could figure out how to keep it yellow). Also there is a secret exit out of the level, but I don't think that has anything to do with it. It was working before when I had the Switch Palace in the Yoshi's Island area, but when I moved it back to the main part of the OW it started doing this. Can anyone help?

Click on the switch in 16X16 editor then click on the crushed castle icon.
Go to any space in the drop down menu and enter the event which activates when the palace is complete.
Now, click OK, and it should work.
Make sure that only one tile is 'criushed per event' as if you put another castle/fortress etc to that event, it will not work.
I did that. The problem isn't that it isn't crushing it's that it comes back after I either go into another level or use the tunnel to go back to Yoshi's island. It crushes but it comes back.

So are you saying that the after each level you beat, the switch palace will crush again?

No it crushes after you beat the Yellow Switch Palace and then it pops back up after you go into another level or through the pipe that leads to it. Then you can play it but the pow at the end is gone (of course) so it never goes back down again.

What event are you using? Try deleting layer 1 events.

Try that and see what happens.

I found the problem. I was using the tile that is invisible until an event is activated and I just switched it with one that is always visible and it works. Thanks for the help. And I don't know how to mark this as solved.
