Since this website has a rule against putting up SMC file ROMs for download, all the files are Lunar IPS. So whenever I download a rom hack from here to play, for some reason it doesn't work on ZSNES.

I have ZSNES 1.42, I tried ZSNES 1.51 and it doesn't work with that version either.

I watched several tutorials and nothing worked. (I have Windows Vista if that matters)

I found that something having to do with the header might be the problem. It told me to download SnesTool, so I downloaded it and for some reason Snestool doesn't work either (when I try and open the application some error window pops up)

So basically, I am trying to play Lunar IPS files on ZSNES and it isn't working. I don't know if I need Snestool, but either way someone help please!

Make sure you have a CLEAN SMW ROM. Use the Clean ROM Verifier.

You don't play the IPS files, you play the ROM. Here read this, it will help you.

thats what i was thinking, i was wondering if he was refering to the rom itself or the actualy file

Oh, I see what you were trying to say,

see, you have to have a clean ROM, as I put the Clean Rom Verifier in my last post. Also you will need 'Lunar IPS' its a IPS patcher for windows. You will need the hack IPS and the CLEAN ROM. Note that if it isnt a clean ROM, it will fail to patch correctly. Just open Lunar IPS then select your ROM and the IPS file, open the Hack ROM in Zsnes, then you can play!

When you download the ROM, make sure there is a [ ! ] in the filename. (Without the spaces.) I think most hacks work best with an American ROM the best, so also make sure it has [ U ] (U) in it. (Again, without the spaces.)

The ! means the ROM is clean. The U signifies the version (American).
