ExAnimating 16x16 tiles

Hi everyone. Well, I know how to animate 8x8 tiles, but i have several GFX i would like to animate, but the slots for the animations are low, so i wanted to ask. How I can animate 16x16 tiles, without using 4 animating slots with 8x8 tiles? ( I mean, in which order i have to put the tile numbers, Upper right, upper left, I don't know it)

If someone can help me, I'll be very gratefull xD.

Thanks for reading, c ya!

It's basically the same as animating 8x8 tiles. Just select "4 8x8s: 16x16" in the ExAnimation window, and select the 8x8 tile of the top-left of the 16x16 square.

For example, if you wanted to animate a 16x16 tile, and the first frame of animation was using 8x8 spaces 100, 101, 110, and 111, then you would select 100.

I hope this helped.

As smwExpert said you do it like that but! when your in the ExAnimation File it has to be top part first then bottom next (This is how the File should look like in the ExGFX).

This is an example just to how it shows it.

500
(First Animation Frame)
510
(Second Animation Frame)

basically how it counts it is like this: 500 = Top Left, 501 = Top Right, 502 = Bottom Left, 503 = Bottom Right. then it would do it like that for the next one

Hacks I Support:

I don't get it :S.

I made an Example Image:

Can someone tell me how it would look on the ExAnimation window? ( If someone can post the correct order, for example= 1-8: 1a, 1b, 1c, etc)

I need to know that so i can figure it out :S.

Thanks for the attention. I'll be glad if someone can help me.

Okay, heres what you do: Open both the ExAnimations window and the 8x8 editor. Next, set the drop-down menu that says "Not Used" to "Normal". Since your 16x16 blocks use a square, set the drop-down that says "Palette" to "4 8x8s: 16x16". Next, type the top left tile of the 8x8 window you want your graphics to go on (in your case, either 1A or 1C). Now in frames 1-8 and 1-16, type the ExAnimated tiles you want to use (create an ExGFX file to use. Remember, ExAnimations read the 8x8 tiles in a line, so make them in a line in your ExAnimations file). Remember, the more times you have the same number in a row, the longer it will look like that image.

Here, using my animation as an example:

EDIT: Please note that when it says "Press Ctrl+Shift+Down to view", its talking about in the 8x8 editor, and also actually means "Page down", not the arrow key.

Thanks to everyone, and thaks to you Fourpify. Now i get it. ExAnimation acts really weird. I mean, you just input the top left tiles of the animations and the software makes the whole 16x16. :S

Thanks for the replies!!
