I'm making a hack of a different type, not one with a large plot, and currently one sans bosses... but what it is, I think will be helpful for people interested in hacking, especially people interested in making a hack that isn't just a YouTube hack.

Please tell me what you think, like, dislike, if you think the idea is good/useful, and absolutely point out any errors, glitches, or messed up graphics.

Wow, this looks quite interesting here. I'll be sure to give it a download later.
Hello there, here is my new blog. I will usually update it every day.
My Pokemon:

Party Image cause I feel lazy.
I loved this hack entirely when I first played it, and I am so very
happy that you made a thread for it. All I can say is I'm extremely impressed
with this, and good luck.
This hack has sure come a long way from the one that you bugged everyone on #talkhaus about.
The two main aspects that really stood out to me beyond all else is:
1) The palettes. Incredibly good to look at in almost all the levels.
Not to mention you had a wide variety of palettes too, not just a different shade of one colour over and over.

2) The Map16. This hack has the single greatest Map16 shenanigans I have ever seen. From weird floating land formations to that one tree you could go inside... everything was amazing.

My only possible suggestion for the demo, (though I'm not sure about the current hack right now) is that you should think of having custom music for every level, not just some of them.

I heard from my friend about this hack and when i just looked at this thread i was just amazed at how it look's just with all the palette in the level's are good, the Map16 is just excellent, just like in the last screenshot. i was amazed at how that could be done and why nobody ever thought of doing that before and in the 3rd screenshot is just very well done. im thinking of taking one of those screenshot's and put that idea into one of my hack's.

Hacks I Support:

Love the idea of crossing over two different palettes. I am very impressed by this hack so far, and I would like to see some more of this hack. Keep up the good work! :)

a YouTube hack.

Could you go into further detail about what you mean by this?

Any hack made by a common Youtuber like me or Teirusu here (normally who makes videos about there hack) is defined as a Youtube hacker usually, and their hack is a Youtube hack.

I don't remember who originally called them "Youtube Hacks" but it's basically kaizos, muncher infested cutoff messes...Super Mario World Hacks 101
Its got... different design... But it looks fun. I'll download it later.
I noticed your hack is featured, well done ;)
Palletes are beautiful. Great level design, what else could anyone else want in a vanilla hack?
I recall watching someone play a version of this on YouTube, and I was pretty impressed, mostly by how well you manipulated the Map16 tiles + palettes to work out so nicely. The levels felt rather short, but they were intricately designed and well made, so the length didn't really hinder anything.

Well done.
I gotta be honest, I am thrilled with the reception, when I started making the hack I wasn't the least bit serious. :)

Here's the new version with a nice new level :) :OSuper Mario World Hacks 101
Well I just played the newest version (and this hack for the 1st time) and I just want to say it's amazing! It is really a good and helpful hack, palette's are great, map16 is amazing, level design, and tips are awesome. I look forward to the final version!
I really like what you got there. I was hoping too see special world passed palettes but I guess that's coming soon?

Btw, the "tar" patches didn't seem to work, if you want, send me the files you used (just the levelasm/cont/block) and I'll see if I can't get it working with your rom.

Also I really enjoyed playing those cave levels.

The patches seem to work for me... I re-patched the ROM several times to test...Super Mario World Hacks 101
Ok it does work for me now (without repatching the rom) but I'll research about those ram addresses I used cuz something seems odd about them how they don't work sometimes.

edit: Lol BTSD 43.

Btw to everyone else, we seem to have found out that BTSD 042 already had a "Mariohead inside block" offset. But it's glitchy to try and use and weird. (Well not really glitchy at all. But you need to miswrite the block format.)

Indeed.

Okay, new level working, any of my links to my patch will work.

Nice palettes, as usual.
I would actually laugh if the first screenshot is a death room. Heh.
The overworld is kind of packed full of levels though... Is that for testing purposes? If it's a legit overworld, then I recommend changing it, and making it look more spaced out and nice.

Looking forward to more.

That area is full of levels (mostly) called "Avoids" that give tips on what to avoid while hacking. And also some other neato stuff.
