Hi SMWC !

It's a me Mario Lexator !

I come back with a New SMW Hack.
I had some problems with my old Hack, Nador Quest...

This New Hack is named SUPER MARIO LAND 4, it's a remake and a big Mix of Super Mario land 1, 2 ,3, and other games of Super Mario Saga !

Story: After Beating Wario in Super Mario Land 2, he come back more powerful and with his brother, Waluigi !
Like Super Mario Land 2, you must get precious coins to enter in Wario/Waluigi's Castle, there are 4 precious coin.

Super Mushroom: Mario -> Super Mario
Flower: Give Wart bubble (SMB2) to Mario.
Super Carrot: Mario -> Rabbit Mario like SML2.
Powerdown: Like SML2 / SMB3.

WARIO's CASTLE system

How I says, this is a SML2 system, you must catch the 4 precious coins into the 4 worlds to unlock Wario castle.
I used a custom block ith the precious help of SL and Lemonade for this.

I love the Idea of this,not to many people really reference Super Mario Land 1-3 at all...but to see them in one game.Genius my friend.

The plot doesn't sound all that complex, but it is undoubtedly more original than lots of stories I've seen around... not including neither Princess Peach nor Bowser in it definitely makes it shine. I also like the references you were able to pull off towards Super Mario Land 2, not only in the actual story, but throughout the game itself. Neat-o.

The powerups you have cooked up there are also pretty unique - I don't really recall seeing anyone attempting to implement the SML2 carrot powerup into SMW, yet I've always thought it was one of the most original powerups in the Marioverse... the bubble one also seems pretty interesting... it's always nice to see what kind of creative powerup replacements people can come up with. ;)

The screenshots look pretty good, as well... the overworld one specifically seems to stand out the most to me - you were really able to pull off a SML2-like atmosphere well, if I do say so myself - the angry hills, the turtle shell in the horizon, as well as the simple graphics all around really make it look like something related to the SML series. My only nitpick would be related to the slightly lighter green color underneath the hills in the bottom, since they kind of do not fit in with the dark green color in those cliffs... if you could edit the hills' graphics a bit, that would be gold.

Wario's Castle coin system looks really intriguing. I assume the coin entrances are somewhat related to the switch activation flags or something?

All in all, this looks like a lot of fun! I really have no major complaints about it - keep working - I would like to try out a demo soon!
I've gotta say...this is one very impressive and promising looking project. I've seen a lot of hacks that claim to be a sequel of an actual game, but this is one of the only ones that seems to be worthy of such a title.

I really like how you use SML2 as a base, as for the most part, you are using its graphics and music, however, you incorporate elements from other SML games into it as well. I saw a couple of enemies from SML3. This is quite cool.

Out of everything, what struck me the most was the coin door. Not only does it LOOK awesome, the fact that you got it to work as in SML2 will make this hack all the more interesting.

I'm rarely amazed at new hack announcements, but you've definitely impressed me a great deal by what you've shown here. I look forward to seeing much more of this project. :D
I would have made Mario Flower power(Give Wart bubble) probable be a color more reminiscent to Wart.Maybe a green or something...also the black hills in the BG on the video looks to dark for the stage(in my opinion).Maybe a purple shade.That's my only suggestions.

Wow, this definitly seems interesting. The coins look more like orbs, you might wanna make them look more....coin-ish. Aside that, nice job, I really like the idea, and I love the SML2 style. Keep it up!
You always come with some amazing, Lexator, you never disappoint me with your works.
Everything looks so fine, I absolutely love your graphical design. A colored Mario Land...a very nice thing. And yeah, I like the Gameboy on the Overworld too. I'm interested to see more!
Oh, wow. I've never played the SML games myself, but I've seen some videos of them on YouTube, and this looks worthy to be considered a sequel. Also, nice that you managed to get a four-coin systemto work. Before seeing that, I would've thought it was only possible through using the switch palaces. Keep up the good work, Lexator.

This is looking really epic! I love the ow, it stands out a lot and it's design is very original. The Koopa shell on the ow, and the ghost house to the left, look amazing.
I like the 4 orb idea you got from SML2. The logo and title screen are impressive. Also the level has good level design and a awesome night day setup.

I live every bit of it. Can't wait to see more!

This the story and the Main Overworld Map.
The story is in french language but for resume it:

"After beating Bowser again, Mario come back to his home the "PipeHouse".
This part of Mushroom kingdom is at peace since mario has beaten Wario (in Super Mario Land 2).
But there is something strange...
The sun does not "go to bed"...The course of time stopped.
The 4 time orbs have been stolen..."

A better translation will be made, remeber, my english is very very limited...

Awesome level as always, Lexator! I just love the pure Mario feeling of this level, the sounds, the music, and all of the graphics are awesome as well.
Do you plan to make a "real" bonus level for the upper doors, or there will be just the goal tape? And actually, what will happen, if you go into the door down?
