Yoshi's Destiny [New screenshots and videos]

Don't worry, revival of the hack is not the title of the hack. It's still just Yoshi's Destiny.
Basically I am making this thread to announce that this hack is officially un-frozen, I got rid of most problems, and decided to redo most levels. So far I haven't done to much, except these few new screenshots;

More to follow very soon, and I will continue working on this seriously after my contest entry is done.
Interesting combination of the SMB2 FG and the YI+redrawn enemies. Actually, it works, in my opinion. The Island level screenshot looks amazing. Seriously, you really got a mood for this level, and the mood is probably one of the most important parts of a level.
And again, that castle looks great as well. The level design seems to be decent by the screenshots, just keep up the good work, Aqua.
Glad to see Yoshi's Destiny is back. I like the new remake of the first castle. Also like the level with SMW and with Yoshi's Island enemies. I will love to see what becomes of this hack after your contest entry is done.
I like the look of this, it's got some nice graphic mixes, nice palettes, and level design. Anyway looking forward to future updates!

This looks great! As others have said, the GFX combination is great. And I love the sunset effect. The Bully looks good too.

It's finally back! Anyway, that island level looks really cool. I assume that thing under Yoshi is a boss bass, right? I also love the use of bullies in that castle. It's really well designed, too.

To answer you question, the fish under Yoshi isn't boss bass. It's the Flopsy Fish from Yoshis Island. (I am not sure if thats the original name.)
But I'll propably use Boss Bass in that level too.

Just a small part of a Yoshi's Island styled cave. There were some Flurrys from SMB2, but I killed them already. :P
That looks good. I like the ice and the icicles. Can I playtest later?

I'll decide who will beta test the hack when I actually finished it. And I will most likely choose users I actually know well, so yeah, we'll see.

This is the slightly remade version of the bully boss in castle 1. I'll try to make a video of castle 1 tomorrow, I hope I can make it. :P
I love that big bully boss. You might wanna fix the red bits on the sides of the eyes though.

What you should do is only make it go back if you hit it at full running speed. That would be really cool.

Is the entire YI cave slippery?
I think it would be a good idea to remove or set the candles to act like 25 in the Big Bully boss room (which, BTW, is a good idea, but it's slightly becoming overused)

Yes, the entire YI cave is slippery. I might use the ice blocks for that though, because that'd make more sense.
And the candles already act like tile 25, how come you think they're not? And what do you mean by overused, the Bully boss? As far as I know I was the first one to ever use it like that, so it can definitly not be overused. :P

I haven't drawn the graphics, and I actually plan on keeping them like that. It doesn't really require fixing in my oppinion.
And while it would be an interesting idea to make the boss only go back when you are fast, I don't have the ASM skills to do that. D:

The level is really nice. Great job! I also like the palettes too, they're really nice.
Aqua, you have to give me some tips on level design sometime. ;D These screenies and video are great.

Good level and palettes! That purple works nicely for the curtains.

I asked about the candles because SMB3 used those candles as platforms, so they would get in the way during the fight if set to 130. And I feel that it was a mistake to make my Bully boss comment, only 2 other hacks I've played have used the idea, and it's actually easily possible to vary the field to keep the idea new :P
