Hope I am not boring you, as I came here for SMW Hacks, this is the ideal place for my first post.

As it should be mentioned here, these new innovations or not really really uplevel the pinnacles of how to reconfigure a game. Personally, I am a little too lazy to do any of my own work, but as is usually done the crew here posting screenshots really turns my mouth into a leaky faucet.

Ghettoyouth(very interesting name might I add): I have seen your videos and your work(have not played any of it though) and you impress me. Personally, there seems to be great potential to get the best minds on here to create a homebrew that knocks most of MFGG's work out of the water.

It is albeit humorous that the Stranded Demo on this site still has Mario and not Aya as the main character. I also wonder if we will see a boss(that is my soft spot and why I am not going to play Brutal Mario until the full version comes out) resembling a creature from the Seiken Densetsu series(the giant mushroom is also from there). I also love the beautiful natural colors and graphics in the game, reminds me of Sunny Side World.

Remnic: Perhaps the game should be retitled, of course to A Yoshi's pleasure, Yoshi's Island III: An Only Child(I know that there have been sequels to Yoshi's Island). I really like the promise of the fluttering but it would be interesting if it could be made into another Yoshi game sort of like the Crash Bandicoot conversion to Mario here. Perhaps Yoshi can stick out his tongue and stomp on monsters and the like, giving off goofy sound effects and images like in SMWII: YI(I especially remember the high pitched effect after some of the bosses got "popped").

I tried registering here before but for some reason was invalidated from some sort of computer error. It is good now to talk to people as interested into creating extra levels to SMW as I am into playing them. That is indeed the big minus of SMW, and maybe one of the reasons why I like SMB III better(though SMII USA is amazing also).

I also believe that it would be neat to do a top ten anticipated hacks of the year. The redoing of Triforce Island will be up there and I also am looking very very forward to Keytastrophe. The highlight of the hack will probably be the puzzles and the music, and I seriously would really really wait for the finished version but I like the samplings of screenshots now.

--------------------
I am not a hacker by trade, I am an observer and I can be very observant. I tend to lurk around here to prolong the good experience of playing the original SMW. Whatever can add onto it is something that I will definitely do when I am bored which is often. And I will rarely post and give praise when needed to the hacks that may make me interested to relive memories.

My worst enemy in Mario isn't Bowser but my controller that keeps on getting disconnected from the inside. Might be my memory count.
Here are some screenshots of my hack: Super Mario 128

Title Screen, I´ll change it later.

My first level, Forest Jungle 1
what happen to the midway bar it look crappy
It is a wooden bar. The graphics of it looked garbled in combination with this YI Jungle, so I decided make it like a wooden bar.
Nice ExGFX Buu-Huu...

I personally like to create my own GFX (Although I ain't IceGoom)

Here's some Pics of MY Upcoming hack...
[ The Top Line of the Screenshots have a Glitch o_O ]

Kick Ass Title Screen

[Notice the Kung-Fu Boos ^_^]
["Onyx" and the Date are all Exanimation...]
[There's also another Surprise, but you'll have to wait for the Demo]

Planes of Beginning [Level 1-1]

[As you can see The Grey walls aren't solid >_>]
[Also Notice my SMB3 Goombas, and my new "Squished" GFX]
[Yay; Kewl Yoshi GFX [Customized to my Liking [The Feet/Arms]]]

Cracked Ring Isle [Level 2-1]

[The name Comes From the OW...]
[Again, Grey Walls aren't Solid]

The Onyx Platform [Level 3-1]

[This is probably my All-Time Favorite Level ^_^]
[The Lava is all ExAnimation]
[Lot's of Ingenious Level Design in this Place]
[The Darker Lava is BG]

??? [?-?]

[This is 1 of the 4 Super Secret Levels in my Hack]
[Kung-Fu Boos :D]
[Everything is Faded... Except....]

This is only a Very Small taste of What my Hack has to offer... There will be Over 31 Exits, and lot's of Awesome Level Design, Creativity, and of course, No Glitches or Bugs!

Hopefully it'll get Featured...
I would like that last screenie more if the green berry was faded also. Other then that, looks pretty good.

Hm .. since I can't post in my own thread yet, I'll post this here:

Meet Mr. Baritone, the quest giver. A famous explorer and adventurer, he will help Mario on his journey. Hand-drawn, and cookies to anyone who knows where I got the inspiration from.

>_>

This SS looks weird because the mist is in front of everything and it is also transparent making it look like there's sections missing.

He seems femiliur (sp?), but I can't regignize him. It's at the tip of my tounge...

For the some reason, I was thinking Kolorado from Paper Mario but he is really a famous archaeologist, not a famous adventurer. >.>

Everything looks good except for the green log bridges. Change them to brown.

Question: Why is Mario blue? He looks like Shadow Mario from SMS.
Not bad. I have a couple of complaints though:

1. The "waterfall" above the green bridge near the top looks out of proportion.
2. Right above castle 1, the revealed path tile cuts off the left cliff, making it look odd.

Other then that, not bad.

I fixed Mr. Baritone and actually gave him the quest I stated in my thread. Get 4 Frost Gems scattered around the caves, and he'll let you use the teleporter. Can't say much more then that without spoiling anything though.
How's he talk to you? O_o Are you making a speech bubble text box?
Press B and a message from him will pop up. Though, come to think of it, a speech bubble would be an interesting idea >_>

Ha ha! I'm so jealous of all your new hopping lizards, ghettyouth. Excellent work.

Remnic: Does that Milde just flatten when you stomp it? What's the Cactus, a bouncing football?

Yep. The Milde uses the squish frame from YI and uses the unused 5Up tile. But it doesn't quite flatten like in YI. And yes, the bouncing cactus is a football. I remapped it to use a GFX tile where a Yoshi Egg used to be. A Yoshi will not be using a rideable Yoshi in this game (I think) He might just use the Yoshi sprite instead of the egg.

Think of Cactus Jack and his little buddy as a Ptooie from SMB3.

CP_foothills has been canned. Therefore, this space is once again blank.
More screens!

There is a Very Specific Reason the Green Berry isn't Faded... Unfortunately I can't give away any further details...

Yes... I know what you mean... I was debating this myself too...
It'll (the mist) probably end up being placed in the Bg where it is supposed to be, but the FG mist kind of goes along with the theme of the Level... hmm..

Thanks for the Input!

@ Tornado

Nice OW ... Although I see a problem with your Paths...

Look right above your Castle... The Path cuts onto the Water... Making it look kinda Wierd...

Just pointing that out for you..

Other than that your hack looks awesome!
Mr. Baritone reminds me of Sabre Man for some reason <_<;

Mmm... I suggest you put Shabing to the SMB3 goombas, they look like a NES sprite. :P
Also, if you'd like, change the gray solid ledges to the non-solid ledge tiles. It'll look better... perhaps. :P
