Talk about anything Action replay related

I'm not a big fan of it. Action replay can corrupt your games, and it takes all the fun out of the game, even if it's used to get things no longer obtainable.
My brother bought one at GameStop and has used it for his games, but mostly it was because he had nothing better to do in those games anyway.

If Pokemon Gen V involves a tiring method to obtain National Dex Pokemon, then I'll use his Action Replay. Otherwise, I really don't cheat. My efforts in Pokemon Diamond came from my own blood and sweat.

I hate Action Replays. My friend wanted me to test his new one out on Pokemon Diamond, and I tried it. It was really fun, but then I walked through the walls of the Union Room. BIG MISTAKE. I was stuck in the Mystery Zone for like 3 months, then I finally made a Pokesav code that led to a series of glitches, eventually getting me back on the map (at the very edge), which allowed me to fly to a town.

In short: They're not worth the risk, unless you're really that bad at playing games.

(also, why do you keep making threads that are "talk about anything *insert topic here* related"?)

That's what I TRIED to tell my brother when he wanted to get Arceus for Pearl, but...

I AR'd the crap out of my Pearl, getting rare candies, all of the TMs x95, getting all the Johto legendaries, getting all the event legendaries, getting all the legendaries shiny, and getting any
Pokemon I want in the wild shiny.

But with Platinum I did (or am doing) a completely clean run and have almost a full national dex, which should be easy with HG/SS on the horizon and all of the events that are finally coming to North America.
Action Replays are sweet, as long as you know what you're doing. Get unused items, into beta rooms, and some unused functions. OH, and don't get me started with Super Smash bros. Melee's debug menu! MOST FUN EVER.
Twilight princess had some awesome codes as well...

Sure, it has some risks, but if you are just extremely cautious, and backup your game files or just don't save(if possible) then you should be perfectly fine.
Hacks:
- 3+World (Cancelled - Download Available)
- Super Mario World Beta (2009)
I've only used it to fool around in games I've already 100%ed, it can get very lulzy.

This, EXACTLY THIS!
except I'm not really aiming for a full pokedex on platinum, I'm just raising awesome pokemon to level 100.

I did this for diamond. But yeah, I've started a clean slate also. :P Yeah, ar really does take out the fun unless you beat the game.
Has anyone lost all their codes before

Rofl

You know, the only people who actually say that are people who've never used an action replay seriously before.

As for the corrupting games, you could only mess things up if you're an idiot. In all my life of using cheating devices, I've only ever messed up pokemon red. And Pokemon Red is one of the most messed up games out there when it comes to serious glitches, so that doesn't even count.

Is that owing to the infamous Missingno. in-game glitch?

I used Action Replay throughout Mario Kart DS, and man, did I regret it.

Also, I remember when my friends used to gather together and everyone, including me, would beg to use action replay before I got it myself.
I use my Action Replay when I complete the games 100%. Either that, I use it to find beta stuff in games. :P
I'm tired.

Sonic 3 Restored patch coming soon
Once I glitched up NSMB...Glitched toadhouse yeeahh

Also, I once tried to use it to cheat with multiplayer in the same game, but it backfired when I played with luigi and the codes gave the other player, who was mario, the moonjump code.

Backfiring yeaahhh
I think screwing around in games with Action Replay is really fun, like the debug room in Super Mario 64. I had an Action Replay for the Game Cube too, but it doesnt work on my Wii and I'm too lazy to get out the Game Cube again. :/
