You know the "Weird 1-up" thread?
It's my same hack if you have a solution please answer it here.
It's the same hack but now, whenever I insert any single sprite, this happens to Mario's head (depending which sprite it is):

Does anyone know what's causing that?

I am probably wrong, but try chaing your sprite header settings and then see what happens.

Its the same ROM as before, so I assume its just the SMB3 pipes.

Either you are usuing way too many sprites, the header is wrong (as narutojon1 said) or Mario's graphics are screwed up (which is probably due to a patch glitch like 2technogeeks is suggesting). This case is somewhat similar to the 1-up glitch, though.

Yeah,this happens to me all of the time,and When I change the sprite header and deleted a few sprites,mario was fine.
Wrong sprite header settings can also result to:
Mario becoming invisible (Banzai bill).
So make sure your sprite header settings are correct,or really odd things can occur.

Try changing the Sprite Header to 0E.

That solved the platform problem but now the message box won't show up.
