The spinoff to the Phoenix Wright series, Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth, was recently released in the U.S.
I picked this up on release and am currently on the third episode. As you may know, this game is quite different from previous entries. It's in third-person view, and there are no courtroom parts.
However, even though it seems very different on the surface, I find it quite similar to previous entries in the Ace Attorney series. There are still two phases: Investigation and Confrontation, which is the exact same thing as the courtroom portion minus the actual setting. I think that makes it a bit more humorous: it's quite funny that Edgeworth is interrogating witnesses and shouting "Objection" without even being in the courtroom.
So far, I'm liking it. Sure, the cases are as far-fetched as ever: ingenious criminals who carefully cover up their crimes by considering every little detail, yet they are still always figured out by the player's incredible deduction skills. The new "Logic" system is a nice addition: Edgeworth gathers facts about the crime, and must "Connect" these pieces to come to new conclusions and progress the episode. Although, I haven't found this new feature particularly challenging.
So, anyone else playing this?
