Classic Pirahna Plant Fix Patch

On Xkas GUI I set the patch and ROM and pressed 'set freespace' and it said no free space available, and I have no patches, and no custom blocks or sprites, only slight GFX edits, what did I do?

Edit: Oops, thought I was in Basic SMW Hacking.

Edit 2: Don't mind this, look below for my new question
1) Wrong section
2) Try using Free Space Logger, and see what it comes up with.

'A total of 0x5D046 bytes of free space were found'
Wiat size is the ROM? What version of Xkas GUI are you using?

Hover the mouse over the ROM

See the 1,00 MB? That's the size of my ROM. What does it display in yours?

Edit: Ultimaximus you 'd me.

It says 1.00 MB
The problem must likely not be Xkas GUI nor the ROM. What patch are you using, I have reason to believe it does not require free space.

It's the classic piranha plant fix patch

Edit: I applied it and my ROM works, but the GFX for the stem are screwed up (the palette is right), would manually replacing the fish that is used for the stem w/ the stem befor applying the patch do this?
Do people just not read readmes ever?

By default, this patch points the upright plant's leaves to sprite GFX
page 1 and palette #5, so it matches the upside-down plant. If you want
to use GFX page 0 (as the game normally does), change $101D7 in the ROM
to 0A. If you wish, you can also apply this to the upside-down plant by
changing $101CC.

SO if you want the plant to use GFX01 for the steam change 101D7 to 0A
I would use a different xkas, becuase I switched from GUI to the original cause I had problems with it.
