Tip: Switch palace switches normally disappear if you replay the level. However, if you insert them as direct Map16 and use the hex edit at $00EEB2 in the ROM map, you can replay the level without a problem.

Hello! Recently, I've started working on a hack that I think will be very unique. It is called "Mario and the Seven Gods." The storyline is as follows:

Mario is enjoying some quality time with the princess when he is ambushed by Bowser and his minions. He tries to fight back, but can't escape. Mario and the princess are then knockeed out cold. When they wake up, Mario is being held in a cell while Peach is being interrogated by Bowser for an unknown reason. Then the guards by the cells open the gates for Mario to be interrogated. Strapped up to a chair, Mario is then asked questions about a person named Hyperion. Mario has no idea what he is talking about. Bowser doesn't believe him, so he is injected with a poison and then taken back to his cell. About 15 minutes later, the cell door mysteriously opens. Since the guards weren't around, Mario runs for his life, and manages to make it out of the fortress they were being held at. Dying and tired from walking, he faints.
Mario soon wakes up , alive, and surrounded by Yoshis. Then, a strangely dressed Yoshi comes out from the crowd. He tells Mario that two of the villagers were hunting when they found him. He looked dead, so they took him to the village. The poison that he was injected with was meant to kill him within five minutes, yet by some miracle, he managed to stay alive for an hour after being injected. Mario is amazed, but something, deep in his mind, is telling him it was meant to happen. Mario is then sent to speak with the tribe leader. The tribe leader tells him a story about a man, oddly named Hyperion. In the story, Hyperion is poisoned to death by am man named Menoitios because Menoitios wants to take over the world. The village leader then tells Mario that Menoitios is gathering an army to fulfill his dream of taking over the world, and that Mario is their only hope of stopping him. Mario decides to go on another adventure to stop Menoitios. But things are not as they seem anymore...
The rest of the story will only be disclosed to people who help with the hack. There will be eight worlds:
-A grass world
-A water world
-A mountain world
-A cave world
-A beach world
-A forest world
-A sky world
-& A space world
The hack will have:
-Custom music
-Custom sprites
-Custom graphics
-ASM
-HDMA (Real or fake)
-Cutscenes
-& Custom blocks
Since there will be about five levels per world, there will be about 40 levels. We will need:
-10 to 20 level designers
-2 to 4 ExGFX designers
-2 to 4 custom music porters
-2 to 4 custom sprite creators and inserters
-1 to 2 ASM & HDMA coders
-1 to 2 Cutscene creators
-& 2 to 4 Custom block creators and inserters

I might be able to make some ExGFX, if I have the time. Just send me a PM on what type you want, and I'll try my best to make them. Just don't ask me to make BGs, since I'm no good at them.

I know that this is a very early build of the hack, and I really like the idea you have there. However, I think that having such a big team can get out of hand.
I'd also like to comment on the overworld so far. The positioning of the levels aren't bad, but you might want to make the overworld more smooth and less square. I've also noticed an error with the lower-left corner of that path; you should edit your events in the Layer 2 8x8 Editor Mode. As for removing the cutoff, you might have to reshape some of the hills/ground.
I feel that, with enough work, this hack could be great!

I know that this is a very early build of the hack, and I really like the idea you have there. However, I think that having such a big team can get out of hand.
Yeah, honestly, I've seen a lot of team hacks that's members are recruited because it's allowing people to just join tend to randomly either be cancelled or disappear.
@Kimimaru The overworld isn't finished yet, but I'll try to fix the errors that you pointed out, and I agree on the too many members part. The only reason I put that many was because it'll an eight world hack. I'll probably downsize it, though.
@2technogeeks There is also 1-pixel cutoff that I will fix, and I will be inserting ExGFX and music, and I will be doing a good amount of level and overworld design.

OW looks blocky and boring. Not a fan of the "bonus" area, but the cloud gfx looks nice. your hack probably won't get complete, but good luck anyway. Also, if you want any asm stuff send me a PM.
I've added some more decorations to the overworld and fixed some cutoff, which I hope will make it better. I've also fixed the events so there is no cutoff.
