Looks pretty good, except the OW too closely resembles the original. I'll test if you want.
Why not just bump the old thread instead of making a new one?
As far as on the game, the submap is a little blatant, but I like the text and overworld, even if it is a little too square. And your level design looks good.

Try clearing the overworld before making a new one.

Red means missing corner tiles
Yellow means that it looks weird
