Errr.... I wasn't quite going for that.

I have a few questions, as well...

1. Is it even possible to make an overworld automatic without using ASM? Because that kind of makes it impossible to get all the bonus points. |-O

2. Do teleport blocks count towards the "No Custom Blocks" bonus? Because you need those to make long levels.

3. Why are Yoshi messages not allowed, but message blocks are? You have to press a button for both.

4. Also, if only message boxes are allowed, does that mean we're not allowed to have an intro message?...

5. Are hex edits allowed?

Also, once we get this all figured out, you should make a new topic.

1) You use OW sprites. Using custom OW things that affect gameplay does NOT go against the "no gameplay affecting custom stuff" bonus point thing. You can still get the bonus points.

2) They affect gameplay, so yes, actually. There are ways to make other rooms, though.

3) You can have a max of two messages before you start losing points. Yoshi counts as a message.

4) Intro Message doesn't count as a message, but you get bonus points if you don't have to press a button during the intro.

5) Yes, but if they are major, they will count as custom things. If they are minor, they will not count as custom.

And yes, we should make a new thread. (although that's probably considered a dupe, so it's probably not allowed)

But... You can't enter a pipe or door without pressing a button... (Although, Mario does auto enter pipes after hitting a goal point, but the level still ends.)

EDIT: I just realized one way, but is there any way to use more levels without using the Yoshi wings?

EDITIT: Just to make sure, ExGFX doesn't count towards the "No custom blocks/sprites/ASM" bonus, right?

ExGFX doesn't count for that, because It doesn't effect gameplay.
Worst Automatic level ever! (please don't say it's blatant edit of 105)
Now I have a question. Do we judge these at the end, or now? Whatever, I'm judging Glitch.Mr's level now.

Also, Kaizoman, and said "ways".

Let's have every judge grade a hack, and then we'll average it.

You may enter more than one hack, but a second entry may not contain levels/parts of a previous submission. (unless it's OW)
if ur asking DODODODO then he wont answer.... he hasnt even replied to my pm yet xD

Added that level to the submissions list.

...
@mockingod
I'll ask again, should we post the scores now or when this is done? And should we discuss the score, or take an average?
I guess we should do all the entries at one time, then take an average of the score....

So we do all the entries when this is done.
Blank message boxes still count as messages because the box still pops up and the player still has to press a button to get out of it.

I think he meant having a message box that's never hit.
I wanted something that sprites can go through that Mario can't. I wasn't planning on hitting it and making a message come out of it.
Well, if you don't mind having no background you could place these objects on layer 2 and enable sprite buoyancy disabling all other sprite interaction, if I'm not mistaken this should make sprites fall through your blocks but make them act solid to mario.

(although I've never tested this, so I might be talking nonsense here. But I believe that's the definition of 'no sprite interaction')
Of course you should fight fire with fire, you should fight everything with fire.

Oooh look at my userbar!

That's fine. I think Fakescaper thought you wanted a blank message.

If you've seen any of my layer 1/2 levels, you would know I'll still have a background :D

Thanks, I'll try that.
I always thought an autoplay level would be very difficult- and still today I'm probably right... A desert autoplay level would be good!

Yep, it worked. Plus it lets me use more sprites, since I don't have the message blocks anymore.

Thanks very much.

I plan on submitting an entry. (I just realized I haven't stated that directly.)
