Converting one patch to xkas would be both quicker and easier than converting 32 to asar. Even with patches that already exist in asar format, many of them have custom data that would need to be re-entered. Others have been modified to suit my own purposes

And so can xkas. As I just noted, I already have 32 other patches in use and I would prefer a bit of consistency.
Originally posted by Ladidausing asar would mean not having to worry as much about corruption.
Pretty hard to worry less than not at all. Unless I screw up and set the freespace wrong (which is a minor inconvenience at worst)
Originally posted by Ladidatrue. but just saying: unlike bzsnes9x, asar is an improvement over xkas, adding features and fixing bugs while acting the same.
Features I neither need nor care about and bugs I have never had issue with.

How did I not see it before. A patch I was using gets obsoleted and I am responsible for the fact that there is no longer a version of it in the original format it was in. Yes, I am truly at fault here.
As for MarioE, while in my personal case it would be better to have the patch available in xkas and while I believe people should have that option, it's really not a finger pointing situation. I'm more than willing to do the conversion myself, I just need to know what needs to be changed.

Yes. Namely the feature that the particular patch was coded in that format and can only be patched with Asar. This is the exact feature I am asking how to remove.
I know Xkas. I am comfortable with Xkas. Xkas does everything that I need it to do. I prefer Xkas. Instead of telling me why I am wrong for wanting to use a program that works fine and is a standard for romhacking in general rather than being something limited to SMW with the only advantage offered being that it's a bit more idiot-proof, perhaps it would be more productive if I could get some input on my original question.
