Idle browsing has revealed to me that I'm the tenth highest postcount user of all time on this site. I never expected to see myself so high on the list when I checked it (seriously!) and as a result, I'm quite impressed with myself. Or was.
Y'see, I may be a mega-post-whore-whatever, but I'm pretty sure I'm still just another face around the site. I haven't achieved anything here, and hell, I'll be the first to say it, a lot of my posts were on the Forum Games before they became crap and imploded. I'm not really a recognized person.
People say there's one thing about a person they think of most. Kieran made the site. Smallhacker has a big nose. SNN is a drunk. Smkdan is a tub'o'lard. Raibys makes epic artwork, and Broozer is a god with pixels. Ersanio is famous for his munchers.
But...what am I? Where do I stand in the public eye? Do I stand anywhere? Despite my high postcount, am I even a recognized figure?
Anyway, I'm not sure. I know you as the guy who used to host the War games, who's British and who's often around in World of Insanity, but I wouldn't immediately link that to you being a postcount whore.
I think you're relatively recognized. If you want to be recognized by something else than just hanging around often, maybe you should create something regarding SMW hacking, that being a hack, sprites/blocks/patches, music, ExGFX or whichever.
But really, I wouldn't worry about being recognized or not being recognized - being popular isn't very important. As long as you have fun being here, what gives?
-------------------- --------> Don't follow "Find Roy's Dignity", my hack. Because it's pretty outdated. <--------
Well, thanks, I guess. As long as I haven't made three thousand posts and remained invisible. (Roy, the list was not set to show inactive users when I looked, so meh, but 10 or 12, does it really matter when it's out of 9959 users?) I'll see what I can do to gain more recognition. Hell, it might be that the TF2 map I've been working on for months is a hit here instead of/as well as at TF2maps.
Ninjaprotection: phenolatukas, you're well known enough that I can spell your name without looking, and I notice you around. But all around awesome, you say? Hah...maybe. Not to my knowledge, but just maybe, if that's what you know me for.
What is everyone's obsession with being well known? I personally can't understand people's innate urge to be liked, it's really just not that important... Whatever though, if that's your opinion I suppose that's your prerogative.
Anyways, I recognize your name, but only just... And that's only because of your "the future..." thread. But then, I mostly frequent the advanced SMW hacking forum, which doesn't seem to be where most of your posts are concentrated so I may not be the best person to ask.
I can recall you being one of the first people that I saw returning in the Introduction/Leaving/Returning Thread and how you were greeted by a ton of replies. Noticing your postcount++, I knew something was up. Then after playing Season of Glass, I really got to know you. So you seem nice, and you have been able to sprout quite a bit of activity.
And man, if you compare Kristian to 2technogeeks, you can see that Kristian has been on here for almost a year longer, yet 2technogeeks has almost the same postcount++ level-wise.
You do know that you will soon be #13, as 2tacogeeks is a posting maniac.
Most of his posts are in Basic SMW Hacking, showing that he's one of those good frequent posters that try to help people as much as they can. Also, it's 2technogeeks. [/grammar_nazi] (edit: hadn't seen that below image before)
Back on topic: Demonsul, you are well-known. You're the one who introduced the auto-avatar, and you made that awesome thread about "The Future..." Everyone should fear know you.
I just have to respond to HuFlungDu. I have made a lot of posts on SMWC, and that means I have dedicated a lot of my time to this site. After that, it would kinda suck if nobody knew who I was, dontcha think?
umm... no? If your known your known, if your not, then so what? This stems from my opinion that if everybody just stopped caring what others thought of them then this world would be a much happier place. I'm idealistic in that way I suppose...
