I've been trying to make a video of my hack for a while, but it seems that Hypercam just sucks at recording ZSNES. Everything appears very choppy and the sound doesn't sync right. Does anyone know if there is a screen recording program out there that can record video game play well?
Or do I just have to tweak Hypercam's settings a little?
there is camtasia, but you have to pay for it. depends on if you care about it enouth.
It's 299 dollars
I guess I can just use the 30 free trial.
Thanks!
yeah, i know, it's very expensive XD i was lucky enouth to have someone tell me the keycode, as i would nevewr buy it. but the 30 day trial, i think that even if you un the re-install it, it won't refresh it.

If that doesnt end up working, then I would recommend CamStudio, it's free, and works well.
Since you're using ZSNES, why not use its built-in recorder?
Let's players generally want to do let's plays live when they do audio recordings as opposed to doing voice overs after it is completed. That's my take anyways.
Camtasia is probably the best in terms of quality, despite the price (it's cheaper on a Mac). Other than that the only other one's that I can think of are Screen Flow (Macintosh Program again) or Quicktime's built in recorder, that is whenever they move that over to Windows as Mac versions already have the movie, audio and screen recording for Quicktime. These are the only decent programs in terms of screen recording.

There is supposed to be a severe video lag when using Camstudio. A friend of mine uses it and the video lag continually builds on it, meaning the quality gets worse and worse. Proof.AnimeList | MangaList
i also heard of a program called fraps that is meant for recording video games, so that could be usefull.

That, and I recall reading that you're only allowed to record for 30 seconds at a time with the trial version - so it's good for montages, but not much else (unless you pay for it)Main Channel: Youtube Channel
Also, if you are on a mac, then I highly recommend that you skip all the paying crap, and get IshowU. Even though its not the full version. Search for codes on YT. Thats what I did. =P

They must have slow computers. My old computer had that problem sometimes, but take a look now.

Actually his computer isn't that slow. He just replaced his RAM about a month ago, and got 2.5 gigs worth. So I don't think it has anything to do with computer speed.
That aside, I too have heard about iShowU. It's supposed to be really difficult to use, or a lot more complicated than Screen Flow, however the quality is supposed to be very good when using it.AnimeList | MangaList
This should be moved to computing... (I'm not backseat modding, I'm just saying, cause it should)

Except you actually are.
One thing you could do is use a screen recording program and audacity(which is free. Google it). Simply start audacity recording(with it set to microphone, of course) and then start your screen recorder. When your done, you can simply edit out the white space as a result of starting audacity earlier than the screen recorder so that they'll be synced. It worked perfectly for me.
Camtasia is pretty good, but it's 300 dollars. I'm currently using BSR Screen Recorder. I like it.

You'll like it now but believe me you'll hate it after a while. If you don't pay for it you'll have to deal with the annoying watermark on your videos. And you may think It's only in the corner, why is that bad? however during the month the program will add more and more watermarks, until it comes to the point that there is one on every corner, plus one in the center. After that the quality starts is supposed to get worse and worse. If you don't believe me look at my Super Kitiku Mario videos. There is a visible difference between video 3 and video 19, well almost anyways, but you get the idea. Also turn down your volume down a bit if you're going to actually take a look at the videos.AnimeList | MangaList
Well, Camtasia Studio 6 is no longer the best because guess what? THE EPICNESS IS HERE!
Camstudio
Camtasia
Fraps (tough, that's better to use for fullscreen recording)
I recommend one of those three, tough only camstudio is free.
Also, if you run xp or higher and have a dual core (or more cores) I recommend you to run both the emulator and the recording program on seperate cores. It can reduce lagg by alot.
More info on how to do that can be found ----->here<----- (even tough the tutorial says that it's for XP, it works the same on vista & w7)
