Website Showoff Thread

So I guess this thread can be used for everyone that has a website and wants to get some feedback on it from people here on SMWC. Websites don't have to be related to SMW or hacking at all.

To start us off, my website.
This is my website I have created for my Game Maker and ROM Hacking projects. I just launched the new version of it, so don't mind the lack of content at the moment.

Ah, great idea! I'm glad I looked here.
My website, The Void Forums. It isn't meant to be an SMWC clone or a clone of any other forum. It's just a place to talk about any kind of technology. We currently have 3 administrators and 1 moderator. We have 19 registered members, of only about 3 are active. -_-
We also have our own banner, and we plan on creating an entire graphics scheme. It's in early development but it's turned out pretty ok I guess. I would like some feedback, and if anybody is willing, active members! :D

I forgot, we're going to buy a domain name sometime this year. If we get any donations, it may be pretty soon. ;3

I vote sticky, and amidoinitrite?

Who knows when I'll have
something to put here.

Gotta tell you Kieran, I don't really like your website too much... It seems majorly flawed. You should replace it with some other thing that you may or may not have in the works sometime soon :P.

I don't classify websites made off a base like phpBB or vBulletin as something you can show off, since it's basically pre-done. :<

I've never actually made a website. I hope that when I'm older I can buy my own server to host my crap on and back up whatever I need. The closest thing I ever do to making a website is layouts and the occasional overly simplistic html document.

Well, if it's based on such a thing BUT with a custom self-made theme, then I'd say that you can show it of.

Also; Thanks to a free host and WordPress, I got this blog: http://daxterspeed.uuuq.com/ I've of course designed the theme myself.
DaxterSpeed, that's pretty nice, I think. The design is very aesthetically pleasing, although one thing that bugs me is that the navigation buttons extend slightly beyond the bar in which they are located.

On an unrelated note, I'm sad because no one said anything about my website, even thought it was in the first post. D:
It's nowhere close to being done and I've only halfassed worked on it for the last month so only a few links work for now but HERE YOU GO!
Coming soon... #w{|o}
Your layout has been removed.
Yeah, you probably should have waited to announce the site anywhere. However, I really like the design so far, but I dislike having two navigation menus like that, as it makes it feel a bit cramped. Meh...

You mean how it's one pixel over and under? Or are you using IE? Because IE glitches some times and uses compatibility mode, which makes the buttons fail. (Also, never use IE when making sites.)

Well, it's an okay place, but it's a bit bland. Try making it so that it's not using a variable width. And then center it. That'd do magic.

@Ninjaboy: Your biggest problem is that the site is just to much nothingness. Just take away that big picture, and try redesigning the whole menu system. Try having the space you now have as some kind of sidebar (while also making it thinner).

Also, your background is just a tiny bit to dark. Try making it slightly lighter.

tl;dr: I said stuff.

What? It's not like the website wasn't made by me or something. O.o
How would I get a completely blank space on the internet and make it into a website anyway?

Who knows when I'll have
something to put here.

What Blumiere is talking about is that the design of the website is just way more important to show of, then the fact that you got a host and was able to upload the website somewhere.

So design is more important than content? ._.

The point I was trying to make is that any person can sign up to phpBB and create a website the same as yours. It's not exactly showing off something when you're using the exact same base thousands of other people are using.

I understand that, but that doesn't mean anybody can have my staff members, users, banner, soon-to-be graphics scheme, ect.
And lots of HTML newbies use templates.

That was a real noobish move of me...
After some googling, I figured that out.

Who knows when I'll have
something to put here.
