Ok... To start: I have played a lot of hacks from this site.
I was always able to say something like "too hard, too cheap, too short, bad, ugly, rushed, repetitive."

This one is... really good, wow!

Oh, yeah, I checked that out by messing around in Lunar Magic, and...what the heck. That isn't fun at all. You screw up once and you have to suicide? That's something for hack removal logs, not featured hacks.

Playable? How far have you made it? I heard that some of the later stages are just evil, even for some of the people involved in making the hack.

By the way, who did the redrawn graphics?
A ton of people made the redrawn gfx, including me. In the ingame credits sequence it has a list.

Also I have no clue what your problem is, this game is really EASY for me? Except for maybe a few. It only gets hard for me at a few levels in the ice world, some in the desert, and some in the final castle. (And the level before the final castle is kinda long.)

Why don't you try it with this cheatcode at least, it enables a patch I made that disables death.

With that cheat you can...

not die
walk through sprites that'd normally hurt you if you're small, but still spin jump on them or kill them or carry shells (still interact with sprites, also you can still get hurt as big mario but not die as small mario)
not fall down holes
not worry about time limits

A few posts back I released the ASMT 100% SRAM save along with zsnes .CHT (Cheatcode) file, and a savestate to the area right before the final area that has alot of cool ASM.

Actually, I did try some cheat codes, everything I could find in the ROM map. Apparently, the infinite star and beat level with Start+Select were the only ones that worked, though. And guess what I discovered? You can give the player infinite star power and still make a level difficult/annoying/a pain. Singing Mountain, for example...ugh, I can't even imagine doing that one the normal way. And...really easy for you? What other hacks have you played, and how skilled a player are you? That could greatly affect your perception of the difficulty. I guess I'll try the death-disabling thing, though. So far, I haven't really seen any ASM that I would deem enough to write home about, but...eh, what the heck.
My disable death is alot more superior than cheating via star power because you can still interact with sprites and stuff (such as carrying them)

And really break levels by abusing the ability to not fall down holes.

edit 3: Singing mountain isn't too bad.
(Plus with my disable death cheat you can completely break that level. Or even better using zsnes to change the time limit I think worked. Or even changing $010B so it reads from a different level for the levelASM code.)

Well, I highly anticipated the release of this after watching raocow's LP's of it, and I was not disappoint. I've gotten up to the second world, and it has been fun to play, and is designed very well. The second best collab hack I've seen anything of (SMWCP obviously takes first), and I am looking dorward to the rest of it.
