HuFlungDu's real C3 thread, Karoshi Mario

Yep, this is my real thread. The other one was just munchie repellent in case Smallhackers shoddily trained munchers got a little to excited and something happened that we would all regret. It is totally a coincidence that it was so awesome.

Anyways, this is a continuation of what started out as a joke on April fools when the other universe came. I quickly threw together a demo of a hack that could be considered good, just for the fun of it, but then I just got so attached to it I had to finish it. So, what you are about to see is about a months worth of work. So, without further ado, I give you, Karoshi Mario!

(Look Ma! I made a cluster sprite!)

For anybody who doesn't know, Karoshi is a game created by Jesse Venbrux where the objective of the game is to kill yourself in increasingly more difficult/hilarious ways. So this hack has the same objective, but it is not meant to emulate the original game, it is just meant to have a similar feel, yet still feel like it's part of the SMW universe. That being said, there is quite a bit of ASM in this hack, but that's mostly it for the custom stuff. I thought about putting in custom music and graphics, but it detracted from the mario feel, so I left them totally vanilla. However, I did draw a few basic graphics, but nothing too major.

Ok, you've listened to me rant long enough here's the hack
Ahaha, I've always wanted to play one of these. This should be fun. #w{=)}

(About custom music, people could turn off the emulator sound and it'd still play the same. I'm just saying, I prefer custom music over SMW music.)
Good fucking bye.
I think I remember raocow playing a game like this. Anyways I'm hoping this will be fun to play, it'll be my first time playing it. :)
I could've sworn Ixtab had the same idea for a hack a long while ago, nice to see you finished this though.

I'll yoink this for moderation if no one else has beaten me there yet.

Yep, found that out while looking through the old C3 forums, but
I had no idea when I started making this :( Yet another example of me having awesome ideas that have previously been taken (but at least it wasn't Carol this time...).

this.
Anyways, pretty creative, even if you didn't invent the gimmick.
Your layout has been removed.

I remember seeing this on Nega-SMWC, but never played it. Nice idea, I'll give it a go.

Who knows when I'll have
something to put here.

Credits go to Counterfeit for the bitchin' post layout.

same principals.

It's definitely a creative idea. I remember seeing the upside down physics in a video you made a while ago, so this is sure to be awesome.

lol, you are actually using my desert bus badge. kewl
Just finished it and that was actually really enjoyable! Really the only thing that bugged me was that the blocks that you have to push move so slowly that it almost becomes a distraction...other than that, though that was a really fun and original (well, mostly) experience.

Quick question, though: on the "Mirror, Mirror" level the timer isn't initially set to 0. Was that the intention, or an oversight?
I should get a new layout.

Probably won't, though.

Nope, yet another bug. I'm uploading a new version soon, as soon as a get something back from Kristian. I thank you for your bug report :P.

Agreed with the blocks. I created them before I knew how to sprite well, and I didn't have time to fix them.
This is a pretty nice concept. I like it! How do I beat 'Pixel Perfect'?
Why not go to my Youtube channel?

Not going to tell you here so as to not kill other peoples fun. If you really want to ruin it for yourself, PM me and I'll tell you how.
Wait, got it. Wow! I knew Ixtab had this idea but you actually executed it pretty well. Nice job!

I'm making a video walkthrough of it right now. I'll post it later on during C3.
Great job. I'm stuck on the final boss though. I wish you didn't disable the reset button, because I think the only way you can definitely be killed is to have most, if not all lives before; It is too fast sometimes and the obstacles make it worse.
That level loops.

I know, I lost the muncher a long time after, so I couldn't find it. Or does it reappear?

EDIT: Yeah, just beat the game. I just had to camp. "It's a legitimate strategy!"
Never disappears. It loops as well. You just gotta catch it.

Edit: Officially accepted onto the site. Hurray...
I recall playing this in the rift and loved it.

I'm checking this out.

And I had it before her (as you can see here), and Ixtab even wanted to help me with it. but since i didn't complete the hack I guess she did it instead, but then she didn't do it either.

Anyways, finally someone made it the whole way. Third times the charm!
Here comes slippy!
