It was originally a bait-and-switch channel with "high quality rips" mainly just being an inside joke, even actually tricking new viewers. But then it just became so popular that nobody really gets fooled anymore tbh. The frequent "takeovers" change the profile picture often too so a lot of the time it doesn't even look like an impersonation of GilvaSunner.

Yeah, I can see why y'all would think that since the community is mostly very immature, but honestly there's quite a few people in the community which are actually pretty cool, and I do think it would be worth it to at least know the community better (the SiivaGunner Discord would be a very great option IMO)

I don't doubt it, as that is generally the case for most communities that stay big and strong. Just answered your question and yknow, there's nothing you can do about it. The impression a community makes to the outside depends on a lot of factors that you shouldn't be concerned about as long as you're comfortable being part of it.
It's easily the best thing I've done
So why the empty numb?

IMO, that's a major part of the appeal, though. It's like a lucky bag: you never know what you'll get until you've clicked a video.

I do kinda wonder why do most people still hate SiivaGunner when they were the ones which made Lazy Town explode in popularity like they did with the WANO meme; yes, I know that Lazy Town already had memes before this, but it wasn't nearly as popular before Siiva made it popular, and well, we all saw what great stuff the meme did for Stefan, so I just don't see why all the pointless hating on the channel honestly ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It's news to me that "most people" hate them. I know they certainly aren't well-liked around places like 4chan, SomethingAwful, and other communities where you get shunned to death if you use the same joke more than once, but for the most part I haven't heard the channel get much criticism outside of the whole "lore" stuff that I think they've recently started to take a little too seriously.

But turning to my own personal opinion for a second here, when the former GiIvaSunner channel was out and the whole idea was still fresh it genuinely was pretty amazing. I found it pretty clever for a couple of months, but the whole novelty sort of fell apart for me when the Christmas Comeback Crisis nonsense happened. It's a bit of an inherent contradiction on itself when they keep having little "series" that they expect you to watch them regularly for, but still hammer home the same few Flintstones/Snow Halation/Soulja Boy/etc jokes all the time as if they don't quickly get old for a frequent viewer. Some of the mashups genuinely are really good and unique, but because the joke's pretty much over at this point I kind of agree with WhiteYoshiEgg that they might as well just advertise them for what they are now.

Yeah, I'd say that's definitely a problem... however, they have been starting to stop with the whole act altogether (slowly, but still), and now they are even crediting the rippers properly in the Bandcamp albums they make, and in the recent KFAD event, they actually credited everyone properly and publically, so honestly, I'd say they definitely know how old their act has gotten and are trying to somewhat change that; dunno if they'll fully drop the act tho, but let's see

Also, I definitely do agree the lore has been getting old for a while now, but due to how much effort they make in making everything as elaborate as possible, you gotta at least appreciate that in some way lmao

They've been selectively crediting specific rips on Bandcamp ever since they started. That's nothing new, and it's still only the minority of the remixes taht are posted to the channel.

The King for a Day stuff doesn't really mean anything either; they always credit the actual arrangers in the description whenever they have "rips" of songs that aren't from real games or for the "special" videos like that (or the CCC OST) where they aren't trying to disguise it as a legitimate thing. Once this event is over they'll just go right back to what they've always done.

Don't they always get permission of the authors to post most of the stuff? If that's the case, I don't really mind the authors being credited in the videos themselves or not.

My very first contiguity with SiIvaGunner was when I wanted to look for some fun video game track, but got tricked by the channel of which the name was "GilvaSunner". I read somewhere that this fake OST channel was removed from YouTube and replaced with "SiIvaGunner". Although I don't usually visit their channel because I don't get most memes done in OST (I'm a normie), there are a couple rips that I actually enjoyed. I even liked their mm2wood, even though I don't really like this meme and its fanbase (I don't get how something off-key and badly synchronized can be enjoyable).

Regarding school and my real life, school year started yesterday in my country (it starts on September 1st when it that date isn't on Friday, Saturday or Sunday). In the same day, a new chapter in my life started. I go to a high school I wanted to get to. This means: new teachers, new classes, new friends (I don't know most of people who go there) and preparation to exam concluding high school (it was called diploma, I guess?) which is more difficult than any exams I had before. I feel little anxiety about new people and more difficult education, but I think I should find myself out in this all. In Poland, the first days of school only have inauguration and the first classes start a day after. I had very first classes in this school year today and there were few, so I don't have anything to comment on them.

Last sunday I went to an orchestra for the first time with my father. They played songs from Georg Philipp Telemann, Christoph Graupner and Marc-Antoine Charpentier, all of them from the Baroque period. It was really cool to see it live, and some of the songs were so good it sent me goosebumps. It's not my favorite music genre, but I still enjoyed it a lot!

The place itself also looked very well preserved, almost as if we still were in the 17th century for a moment.
This is literally the first time ive ever poked into this thread and somehow the topic is on siivagunner, jesus

I'm actually one of the managers (I go by craz xexe in regards to siiva, its a case of having another username somewhere else and that getting involved in stuff i think some of you can understand) and ive basically been on the whole ride more or less (started seeing vids in feb 2016) and been through all the ups and downs and everything else so its interesting seeing how people interpret the whole project in various ways.

From a distance, the average SiIvaGunner fan looks like someone unfunny, which is to say, overly obsessed with things most people don't enjoy that much or find that funny.

The people you usually see are the youtube commenters and 1. its youtube comments 2. its memeshit, so its gonna attract a bunch of kids or bozo teens so the most vocal people are gonna look really silly. There's lots more people who don't comment or discuss things publicly, just watch the videos and enjoy the content so obviously it'll be a skewed view of the community.

Though I guess then they wouldn't appeal as much to the meme people. #tb{''}

I think at this point its more just a consistency/legacy thing, noone cares about holding up a facade anymore but we dont really feel like changing the identity of the channel suddenly and drastically

^ though this can be a curse if you get something that you dont care for. best thing is to look up playlist of "unironically good rips" or whatever, since it doesnt explicitly say what each is

I don't browser 4chan myself, but some people posted some threads related to siiva that i checked out and i was honestly shocked seeing that the /v/ threads or whatever were about 50/50 on appreciating siiva, vs the expected 4chan hatred.

I dont really handle lore that much and tbh I cant comment too much on it but i think i can say that its not the reason why i still enjoy it, i just like seeing people make really good shit

If you agree to have something you created uploaded to the channel you also agree that unless it gets selected for a bandcamp thing, that your content is published anonymously

However you CAN post your thing without any bait and switch to your youtube or soundcloud after its been uploaded, lots of people do that myself included

I don't even see that as a curse, quite the opposite. As far as I know, there are several studies that show how getting something good out of a random chance produces more dopamine than getting something good you already know is going to be good. In fact, the dopamine is already released before even getting that thing. This is the reason lootboxes are so succesful despite everyone officially hating them, and the same thing works for SiIvaGunner. When you click a video, you might get crap, but there's also always a random chance of getting some gold, and the thrill of it is what makes it so fun. In fact, this thrill was pretty much gone for me during the "King for a Day" tournament, and I happened to barely watch anything SiIvaGunner-related at all. Sure, I clicked one or two of those videos, didn't know what to make of them and moved on to sporadically check back on the channel to see whether "regular" uploads were continuing. I know that a lot of effort went into the tournament and a lot of people liked it, but somehow it didn't click with me after giving it a few chances. I was simply missing that kick of seeing an image of a game I knew, not knowing what to expect and then being pleasently (or unpleasently) surprised about the result. The current series definitely has me back on board, though, and I'm enjoying it a lot! My own SiIvaGunner playlist also has recently grown to 1000+ tracks, and it's all tracks that I like to unironically listen to.

im sorry but all of that above me is just too much text to read and i'm just not going to respond to it. if anybody else wants to feel free to ignore this post.

but i just bought a new pair of shoes and a jacket and i am so overjoyed with how good they are i needed to share. the shoes are comfortable and expensive because htey are made with Gore-Tex (if u dont want to click, the basis is that theyre waterproof and windproof while also letting ur feat breathe (i had some waterproof shoes before (interestingly they were also vans) and they would basically become an oven over time, these keep my feet warm but not too hot)) and they are very stylish and comfy and i want to cry because of how happy i am with this purchase for some reason. And the jacket is just yellow and yellow is my favourite colour so i am very happy to have a yellow jacket.

This thread is now dedicated to recent good news you've gotten and good vibes all around, unless you want to respond to the post above me which is negative (i dont know, i didnt read it). but yeah we should keep the good vibes going!! no memeing just things that make u happy!!!! also im on vacation from work
ask me if i give a f*ck...
i got a raise at work for threatening to quit (they suck and rely heavily on me) also applied for a credit card and got accepted right away also planning to move out

who handles the thread title here because its always something lame also this one is old now please change
I even have a handful of suggestions for the name change:
1) The Bar & Grill & Knuckles
'& Knuckles' titles are a meme. No idea if this thread had this one already and no, it's not related to Ugandan Knuckles.
2) The Bear & Grylls
Inspired by a traveler and survivalist's name. Anyone remember this meme?
3) llirG & raB ehT
This one would be particularly suitable for Halloween.

you are banned from coming up with names
Not much better for me on ideas for names, because I don't fully have the ability to picture word puns and idioms... I sometimes wonder about your creative processes on how some of you guys and girls can come up with witty, creative, clever names for your projects and all?

What a scum! You're not even a mod and you dare state what I should NOT do on the site?! Yikes... Also no one sued me not to come up with a new name after I had said this:

And yeah, The Bear & Gorilla (TM) changes the name very often. I think it shouldn't change its name that often.

I predicted what I said, but I didn't expect that RPG Hacker would say not to change the name for the next two years, but yeah, the current one feels old already, so if nobody listens to that guy, it'd rock!

Speaking of Halloween, is this gonna be the very first year (excluding when there were no Halloween events before) when the Halloween event didn't happen on this site at all? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

i think a good name for this thread would be "The Bar and Chill", becuse when you post here, it is very chill. haha, just kidding. But seriously i think that if i was going to be hired tyo change the name, I would try to pick something cool and mario related. Maybe "The Toadstool Cafe". Or "Mushroom Kingdom Mouth Talking". haha that last one is pretty bad, but you know what i mean #smrpg{y}
