How to raise the coin limit from 999 to 30000?
I researched without result for several years.
If you've searched for years, then it's safe to assume it's not a simple edit, and that it hasn't been done. You'll have to look into the code of the game (via hex editor) to do so yourself.

The Card Emporium

The player makes their way into a large blue tent (not circus size though, just large), and for once this one doesn't have weird and unrealistic traits about it, be it dimensional doors, unburnable fabric, way bigger on the inside that it should be, and so on. Instead it's just a simple little shop. A few tables along the side, covered with all sorts of cards, booster packs, and decks, and at the opposite side of the tent, another table serving as the counter.

Behind the counter stands a Koopa, who was currently sifting through a deck of cards and sorting them out based on type and brand. Judging by the stack of cards in his shirt pocket, it was easy to tell he was a serious trading card connoisseur.

NOTE: Booster pack contents are largely randomized. Decks can be used as many times as there are cards in them, and will have a variety of random effects. Packs and decks may have themes, resulting in specific types of cards or specific functionality.
Name Cost Description
Mystery Card 50 Coins Gives you a completely random card from a giant collection of possibilities, including Specials and Uniques.
Mushroom Booster 150 Coins Gives 4 random cards from the Mushroom Deck. May include item cards or class cards.
Goomba Booster 175 Coins Gives 4 random cards from the Goomba Deck. May include monster cards from any of the three active campaigns.
Terra Booster 200 Coins Gives 4 random cards from the Terra Deck. May include special monster cards and debuff cards.
Temporal Booster 200 Coins Gives 4 random cards from the Temporal Deck. May include TC items, and single-use Temporal Relic cards.
Player Booster 250 Coins Gives 4 random player cards from TC or EI. Effects vary depending on the player and campaign.
Unique Booster 450 Coins Gives 3 random cards from the Unique Deck. Effects vary wildly, but they're usually powerful.
Epic Booster 900 Coins Gives 3 random cards from the Epic Deck. Effects vary wildly, but they're extremely powerful.
Mushroom Deck 450 Coins Gives a large, 15-use deck of cards. Each use pulls a random card from the Mushroom Deck.
Goomba Deck 525 Coins Gives a large, 15-use deck of cards. Each use pulls a random card from the Goomba Deck.
Terra Deck 600 Coins Gives a large, 15-use deck of cards. Each use pulls a random card from the Terra Deck.
Temporal Deck 600 Coins Gives a large, 15-use deck of cards. Each use pulls a random card from the Temporal Deck.
Player Deck 750 Coins Gives a large, 15-use deck of cards. Each use pulls a random card from the Player Deck.
Unique Deck 1350 Coins Gives a large, 10-use deck of cards. Each use pulls a random card from the Unique Deck.
Epic Deck 2700 Coins Gives a large, 10-use deck of cards. Each use pulls a random card from the Epic Deck.
Want to see some of my cool swords? Well, too bad, right now you only get to see one of them, and it's my avatar. Might set up some kind of gallery/portfolio at some point, though.
Oh man. Several years to a way of limit from 999 to 30000 coins?!?!
Thats milionary thing.
But you want! What i gonna do?!
Caham... If exists this option in Lazy Sheel, will does only to 5000 (i belivie). Them, You'ill try use the hex, but gonna result in a big faluire because the game gonna read as inverses numbers and Mario gonna win infinite coins!!!!!! LOL
Them, you only can do it if dont past 5 numbers of value.
Example: SMRPG Armageddon 7 there max of 9999 coins, because Darkelfa ya know will read how reverse, like how the levels cap.
Hope i help.

SMRPG Hacking is the best thing ever!
I did it before but I already forgot. :P

My hack is on my other computer back in my home country. Ask somebody who still has my Super Mario RPG Expansion hack. You can use that hack to increase coin limit from 999 to 9999. Just patch the content with your own. Going past the fourth digit will get you a gibberish number.

Woohoo al2fenrir back! So when you will make another hack?

C3 Over.

Some hack things why i are feedbacking on.

MY HACK what I are working on.

I don't think you can.
If Al2fenrir did it, then it's possible. But it require fancy coding.

This patch(not made by me) raises the coin cap up to 9999

It's 99.9% bug free except for a VERY minor graphical glitch: It can only display 3 digit numbers in the shop.
but other than that it is 100% safe to use
