Welcome, oldbies and newcomers. You're obviously here because you want to sign up for a level. Excellent - thanks for showing interest in this project. Let me fill you in on what I'm expecting if you claim a level:
1. You can be as vanilla or as chocolate as you want. If you're claiming anything, please do so in the appropriate threads (music, sublevels, graphics, sprites, blocks, etc).
2. Please be as creative as possible - make a level that doesn't feel like a generic "run left -> right", because I WILL reject it. Make a level that will have people talking.
3. Make your level appropriate for the world you're claiming it for. If it's a world 3 level, don't make it ridiculously hard. If it's a world 8 level, add a fair amount of difficulty. However, absolutely no Kaizo stuff will be accepted.
4. Please do not claim more than one slot. I want as many people involved in this as possible.
5. Use the base ROM in the "Base ROM updates" thread to do all of your work on. Included is everything you should need.
6. READ THIS IF YOU ARE CLAIMING A VOID LEVEL: I would suggest reading up in the "Final level information" thread, if you haven't. Basically, each of these sections will be 10-20 (hex) screens long, and difficult. You will only use one level and no sublevels in the creation of it. The level numbers to be used are listed on the signup page. These are to be challenging, yet fair areas. You may use whatever you'd like for the FG, but the music and BG is already picked for them (BG uses palette 0). You may also use whatever sprites/blocks/etc. you'd like. Try to keep the theme twisted/dark.
7. READ THIS IF YOU ARE CLAIMING ONE OF THE TWO SUBLEVEL SLOTS FOR BOWSER'S CASTLE: The way we have it set up right now is that 127 leads to six doors. Four of them are completed, two are not. 16A must be a puzzle room using 127's tileset, and 16F must be a standard platforming room. These really shouldn't exceed 6-9 screens - they are not meant to be long. I would highly suggest you play through Bowser's Castle to get an idea of what these levels should be like.

Here is the legend:
--- = free level slot available for claiming.
name / --- = free sublevel slot for claiming.
THE DEADLINE FOR ALL SUBMISSIONS CLAIMED ON THIS DATE IS JUNE 25TH. DO NOT PROCRASTINATE.
And once again, if your level does not meet the quality standards that are set, I'm afraid it will be rejected. Too many people want a shot at a level, and I have to do my best to accommodate that.
Thank you. If you have any questions at all, feel free to ask.
