Pick your Poison(Emulator)

Which emulator do you use? I know A LOT use zsnes. I use Snes9x. Personally, the Graphics are better and it has many more functions and is easier to use.

So...

Pick Your Poison!

For a while, I used snes9x since it was the only way I could record videos of my levels at the time. Then, I began using ZSNES more and, after discovering I could record videos with it as well, ZSNES became the main emulator I use.

So, right now, it's ZSNES.

I'm probably retired tbh
Any chance I get, is to use ZSNES.

But on mac 10.4.11, unfortunatly Zsnes does not work. (Even the mac version).

Though, SNES9X does. Also, on the windows computer, I use ZSNES, but I am thinking of doing my TASes on the windows, so I would use Snes9x for that.
ZSNES every time. :D
ZSNES, just because of the save states, they're easy to access, and that's really helpfull when I'm trying to test my levels.

SMWHacking? I rest my case.
SMWCentral? I leave it to rest.

snes9x due to the more accurate ROM emulation. I'd always use BSNES if my PC was strong enough though.
My blog. I could post stuff now and then

My Assembly for the SNES tutorial (it's actually finished now!)
Bsnes, unless I have to record, in which case I use snes9x recording version.
ZSNES on Macs, and the few times I use a Windows, I use ZSNES there too. I prefer ZSNES 'cause you can rewind if you do idiotic things. And it can go full sccreen, too, which is easier for me to see. It's pretty darn glitchy, though.
Good fucking bye.
When I actually used to emulate, I used ZSNES. Not for any real reason in particular other than because it was the generic emulator that everyone knew about. It just seemed easiest to get it.
Zsnes. Snes9x has too many defects compared to ZSNES.
i just lurk sometimes
ZSNES, just like everyone else here. Why? Because it was the first one that I used, and I stuck with it.
I only use ZSNES to dump SPC files, and snes9x for actual playing. Snes9x like Ersan said emulates accurately. I have this little pet peeve with music, any small difference in it bugs me, ZSNES tends to emulate sound very oddly in specific games, snes9x just seems easier to use for me, people complain that it has no rewind, I personally have no use for the rewind function ZSNES has, it's just superfluous.
I think a post layout goes here somewhere...
I only use ZSNES for SPC dumping and Custom Title Screens.

@First post: How can the emulator have worse graphics? If you mean the smoothing effect, that can be disabled, though that ought to be disabled by default...

Personally, I use ZSNES 1.51, but I have ZSNES 1.36, 1.42, 1.42n (special netplay version) as well. For Snes9x, which I use to TAS, I have 1.51, 1.52, Debugger, SFX Tracer, and rerecording 1.43. I only ever use the 1.43 rr though, haven't touched the others. I also have bsnes, and I'd use it for regular gaming, but I haven't actually played any games since ever.

To compare, I find ZSNES the easiest to quickly play through and test a hack, and I like the lack of a menu and title bar during gameplay, as well as the GUI customibility, but the desyncing during movie recording leads me to use Snes9x rr, a special version that never ever desyncs, and is used by professional TASers. I find Snes9x good for TASing since it's easier to control the speed settings, as well as the fact that mentioned settings are displayed on screen. The frame advance is good, and works wonders for dumping SPC files, since that exact moment can easily be achieved.

I used Zsnes first, and kinda stuck with it. Nobody has given me a good reason to use a different one after all.

which is why I use SNES9x

This is a thing that's happening, now. Achievements in old video games.
Thank you for the layout, Erik557.
Man, I wish this would've worked. Oh well.
If not for respect, but dramatic effect, take on the face of Guy Fawkes.
I use snes9x because it's the first emulator I used and it's easy to use, it's also easier to use diferent savestates in snes9x (allthought I rarely use those.)

The only time I used a diferent emulator was when I used Zsnes to play Mario's keytastrophe and to record the title screen for my hack.

I'm pretty sure "pick your poison" is a saying. Or something.
Good fucking bye.
I like Snes9x but I like Zsnes better why? because of Rewinds and Save States!
