The Title is Irrelevant (absolutely nothing - January 5)

Well, I haven't commented on the new maps yet so...

Pretty awesome. The first one looks nice with the palette choices, the sky looks a bit odd to me, though you're going for a creepy kind of look so it works I suppose.

Now then, the new one - I am amazed. I'm having trouble explaining how awesome it looks. I'm sure there's a word to explain it better, but all I can think of right now is froody.

So, what do you think of this new one?

Oh GOD NO. I thought i thought of it first D:
I knew i should been making it by now...

Yeah, whatever. It looks utterly amazing nontheless. Loving the lava part palette, and the ice is a nice effect.

hey 1111th post am i cool now?

To bring this thread back up from page 2 (on 50tpp), here's the current full overworld available is a convenient single .png:

Please comment on the new cloud submap, maybe with suggestions for decoration if you find it too plain.

You can always find the overworld in my profile as well.

Now that all of the overworld reachable in the next planned demo is complete, I can soon start on working on totally new levels. Hooray.
May we meet again outside the battlefield.
The pink one is pretty eye-searing in my opinion... Too bright...

I love the exploration feel that comes with your hack.
I for one embrace the new surreal palettes. It makes your hack unique, instead of just boring kinds of places we've all played before.
Your layout has been removed.
I like the new submap. The colors are bright, but eye-searing.
So I got a new level done. Full spoiler image here.

Or, some screenshots that don't really show much of the level:

The beginning.

Yeah.

Oh, awesome level design(from the spoiler image).

My one nitpick would be that it lacks a custom palette. Normally this would be fine, but it sort of clashes with the rest of the hack(which is custom palette heavy, the exception being the level Awakening Isle).

Actually, the grass palette is custom. If you compare my grass palette to the original SMW one, you should be able to tell that my one is slightly darker.

Unless you mean something else.
May we meet again outside the battlefield.
I dont feel like clicking the spoiler image >.<

But anyways, from the images you provided, it looks like a nice level.

If you actually looked at the full image you'd see the cut-off isn't there usually.
Wow, Very nice vanilla effects here, and I love the use of the transparency. Awesome job on the OW, it looks amazing.

Yeah, but it's barely different, and I feel you should make is even more different, along with the dirt and BG.

Don't know what you mean by "use of transparency", but thanks.

... the dirt and BG are also changed. The palettes aren't changed dramatically because then it wouldn't exactly suit the green grassland world it's set in. Maybe for the next level I'll a more obviously changed grass palette.

Anyway, time to begin work on the next level.
May we meet again outside the battlefield.
I suggest changing it. You can change the hell out of the FG palette and have it still suit a grassland. Grass can be lime green, bluish green, dark gray green, etc., while dirt can be brown, orange brown, red brown, red-gray, blue-gray, gray, etc. and it'll still have the grassy feel.

Eh, I'm still going to keep the palette for that level, but other levels will have different palettes like so:

(the level obviously isn't going to start out completely flat like that)

At least you've given me the idea to give each level a different palette; I didn't really do that with the other worlds.

Nice pink... hill thing you've got there.

Seriously, what are those? They're not hills.

Also, you don't have to have custom palettes to make a good hack.
Can I upload a video playthrough.
Very good palette there. You could transform the hills in something that isn't hills. Nice.
Now I need to change my old avatar. Or not.

Quite true, but custom palettes make my hack seem more interesting, rather than just bland vanilla levels that use the not-so-great original SMW palettes.

Sure, that'd be great.

Thanks for the comments, guys. Level progress is a little slow, but I think I should have it done by the weekend.
