Anyway, I said it would take longer, but oh well I managed to get it done in two days. Yep. Spoiler image here.

I think it turned out pretty well, except for maybe near the end I was running out of ideas. That's what happens when I work on it late at night I guess. And now that I'm typing I remember I had an idea before. Eh, can't really be bothered going back and re-doing the level now, not that it'll really change much anyway.

Maybe the next level will take longer? Who knows anymore.

This hack never really goes for being really decorative, anyways. It's more of a nice palletes/nice level design thing, I guess.

I think this would benifit from the ghost house mist personally. Other than that I think all the level design is solid!

I did too, and the ghost house mist was already implemented before I made the picture. I just forgot to mention it.

Also, just got Minecraft and have an assignment to do so the next level probably won't be done until at least Thursday.

Oh man it's been a while.

Since my last post in this thread I have completed two levels, but because the first one was a puzzle ghost house level, I didn't make an image of it and so this thread wasn't updated for a while. Then I made the next level, but progress was slowed by lack of inspiration and Minecraft, so yeah.

Anyway, here it is.
Parts 1, 2, 4 and Part 3 of the level.

Hopefully the next three levels don't take this long to complete.

I haven't been following this hack in a while and right now I'm kicking myself because of it. The levels that you've added look great - the transparent level in particular is great. Regarding the most recent level: I love the dolphin palette. I assume you just haven't bothered to add coins yet. The mushroom sequence thing where you have to hit it in order is a good idea but I hope you have some sort of way for the player to figure it out. Is that what the message box is about? There really isn't that much that I have to say about it because it is a gorgeous level. It reminds me a bit of the first level in Rise to the Challenge but is different enough that you don't have to worry.

Adding coins to a level is something that I never remember to do. I probably will go back and add a few coins here and there in most of the levels.

Well, it's just one of those sequences for a 1UP, so I don't see why it'd be necessary to tell the player of it. More of a random bonus than anything. The message box is just one of those useless messages there for your amusement.

Anyway, I'm at my mum's house for the rest of the week, so I'm not going to be able to work on the hack until then. Don't worry, the next update won't take as long as the last one (I hope).

Three more levels are yet to be created until I will begin preparing a second demo. I'm hoping to get the demo ready by late October (or, more specifically, my birthday).

Hey guys, I haven't updated in a while. The level I'm working on is taking a lot more time than I would have liked, but I'm keen to finish it and make it the best it can be. Since it's been so long, I might as well show you all what I have so far: first half of Forest Camouflage.

Since this level has taken such a long time, I'm probably not going to be releasing the next demo this October, so it'll probably have to wait until the upcoming C3, which is just under a month away. Hopefully by then everything will be complete, tested, and polished.

So yeah, it's still coming, just a bit later than expected.

HEY GUYS THE LEVEL'S FINALLY DONE

Yes. It took me a whole month, but it's finally done! Check out the entirety of Forest Camouflage here!

Still aiming for a C3 release, but if it's not done in time, don't be too surprised. Two full levels, polishing up old levels and testing, to be completed in two weeks.

That level is looking great so far! I like that the bushes grow over the foreground.

The level looks great, I like the shiny light palettes too. The color of the cave part (part 3) is quite special, I really like hacks that use not only the "green+brown" combo. Nice work, Forty!
Tbh the palletes don't seem to blend well. Did you use the gradient trick when designing them?
