@Zephyr : Madoka just finished and I'd reccomend that show to ANYONE.
On another note, is anyone still following Beelzebub? I can't understand why you would drop it if any of you did. So hillarious.
I'm watching Beelzebub. It's awesome.

Apparently they are dropping it after a certain arc, is this true? I couldn't find any info on this except for my friend. :/
(It will be a sad loss if it is true...)REMOVED
I haven't heard of anything about them dropping it. I'll research it soon and edit this post if I find anything I guess.
So I've been trying to get into anime. I've seen Pokemon a couple, but I want a good one to start with. I'm not looking for a specific genre, just something to get me started. Any suggestions?
I guess it'd be better if you watch the more well-known ones before the more obscure ones. So I guess I recommend ones like Code Geass (my first), Cowboy Bebop, FLCL, Gurren Lagann, Evangelion, and... well that's all I can come up with. These are majorily mecha/futuristic however; maybe you'd want something else? (I'm not very well-versed in anime myself, awaiting someone else)
Try Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.
Super surprised you didn't say Angel Beats again. ToraDora! is a pretty awsome anime. Or if you are into comedy and don't mind the fan-service you could try Sora no Otoshimono.REMOVED
Black Lagoon.

Angel Beats! is an anime you can truly appreciate once you've become an otaku like us. If I had watched it in December 2009 when I first got into anime, I wouldn't have shed as much manly tears as I did a few months ago.

I guess you're right. But still... I recomend it to all of my friends even if they don't watch anime (Although I get the "what?" look after, but still 8D )REMOVED
Alright, thanks for the suggestions guys. I'll have to check them all out.

I know what you mean D=
I used to not be able to get into anime that much, but lately animes can really touch me and even make me cry because I just feel like I'm getting close to them, and believe me, I barely cry =)

Fuck Brotherhood, the original was overly better than Brotherhood ever was.
(Yes, I know liking the original over Brotherhood is like liking the plague over the common cold now, but that is bullshit to me)

all respect to you as a fellow otaku has now been lost
I don't get how you could like the original FMA over Brotherhood. At least in Brotherhood they didn't make up some bullshit story of Homunculus being the reincarnation of their failure to restore life to a dead loved one (implying that no other alchemist other than the few in the anime did human transmutation, I mean really?) and ended with some lazily thrown together explanation about alchemy that it's the power of dying people in another dimension (read: london).
I just don't get it.
Glad I finished FMA before reading that, heh.
I can understand why you "wouldn't" want to watch it though... I don't wanna rewatch FMA ever again. Too long + I wouldn't watch to watch a action saturated version (so I've heard) of the origianl either.
Meh up to whoever wants to watch it I guess...REMOVED

Oh man, how will I ever argue against as well a crafted an argument as that. I can understand if you prefer the original for, say, nostalgic purposes, but with the exception of the first 15 or so episodes Brotherhood has better atmosphere, animation, story, music, emotion...just about everything, really. But again, that's barring the first 15 or so episodes, since the pacing is somewhat poor (they were trying to get what the original covered out of the way as quickly as possible so viewers wouldn't get bored rewatching the same thing) and the animation department couldn't decide whether the style should be serious and calm or silly and super deformed (no justification for that one, but it lets up quickly at least).
I should get a new layout.
Probably won't, though.
My friend has recommended FMA, I guess I'll add it to the list.
What grade would you guys give it and how much would it be worth my time?

Man, I'm seemingly losing interest in anime again. The only show I'm following actively is Deadman Wonderland. Otherwise I have zero interest in the shows I've been watching so far. :(
Perhaps I need a break...

It's this season... Kinda awfull in comparison to the last 2 :/REMOVED
I don't know. Ano Hana, TWGOK S2, Toriko and Ao no Exorcist are genuinely interesting, but somehow I just can't get myself to watch them, as much as I would like to.
