5.0 magnitude earthquake in Ontario, Quebec, northeastern US

Ooh damn, I hope everyone that got hit by the earthquake is fine. I know I wouldn't want to feel one.

... Also doesn't raocow live in Quebec/near Quebec? ._.
What about poor S.N.N? I was actually talking to him earlier today when he told me he felt a quake. It was a little while after that that he linked me to the article. He lives in Ontario...which was only about 500 or so km away. I think that's what he told me anyway.
I heard about this. Apparently it hit the county I work in. I didn't feel a thing.
No.

Hope they are okay though.
Way too far for me to feel it. Hope that S.N.N. and raocow and their friends/family are okay.
Shocked, to say the least. We've never been hit with a quake of that magnitude (christ, I've never felt an earthquake in my life). The whole house started shaking for about 5-10 seconds, and then it was still.

I heard the building were swaying in Toronto, and a bridge was actually knocked down in the city north of Ottawa. Scary shit, especially since I'm pretty sure the closest fault line is in Lake Ontario.
Oh! This is the quake that I felt yesterday at my house. It was weak by the time it got to my house. S.N.N., the buildings were designed to sway during strong quakes like that yesterday. Why, they've even got those swaying building in California! I think in New York, the closer to Lake Ontario, the stronger it got, right? I hope everybody in Ontario are ok. S.N.N., I wish I could fly over to Ontario to see all that damage. I saw this on the news last night. I hope noone died...
I felt that earthquake. It was the first time in my life.

It was really scary, my house shook for some seconds.

Thank God the earthquake wasn't higher. Everybody here from Montreal is okay.
Now I need to change my old avatar. Or not.

I don't remember that moment too much, maybe it was minimal shaking.

At least your plates have loss there pressure for now. Here in Vancouver were expecting an 8-9 Magnitude earthquake cause we haven't for years and years. Nevertheless I hope everybody is okay. I was shocked to hear that the shock wave went all the way down to the States.

That Tornado in midland, Ontario probably caused infinitely more damage than that earthquake (it was on the exact same day). I live in Toronto and I barely felt a thing, to me it honestly felt like it was caused by people stomping on the roof.

As for a 5.0 magnitude earthquake, it isn't really too devastating, unless your living in a very poorly made house, and the buildings in Toronto are designed to sway.

There was virtually no damage done from this quake, but... The Tornado on the other hand actually destroyed houses, but no one was killed.

Everyone is fine right now.
My aunt works as a secretary in a school up there; she said she got a barrage of phone calls wondering if their kids were okay. Luckily, only damage to buildings was caused, and I'm pretty sure everyone was fine. Thank God.
I was wondering if someone posted this. Anyways I felt a bit of this when it happened. The house shook for a couple seconds, after that nothing. I honestly disregarded the event as I'm used to having my room shake every so often. It wasn't until after I heard about the event that I realized Oh, so that was the shaking that happened.

I can't remember if this is right or not, but I heard that a couple schools in London had to be evacuated, or maybe that was Toronto. Either way, it really hit close to home, literally.

I've felt it. The top floor of my house began to sway and things fell to the floor. Lucky to say nothing broke.

A similar earthquake occurred 3 years ago actually. It was near the point where the current 5.0 magnitude earthquake had struck, but it was 4.1 magnitude.
