I was going to wait until I had a demo ready, but I think I can safely say I have enough done to premier my newest hack.

This Hack follows Waluigi on his quest to have his own game, just like Mario, Wario and even Yoshi and Peach! And as it turns out, adventure is just around the corner as Waluigi finds himself in the middle of a battle for the land of the Nimbus, a cloud-like people.

Who are the invaders?

Why the diabolical Lobstermen, of course!

Just a few things:
(*) I know that the OW Mario Sprite is unchanged, minus the palette; I may or may not be changing that.
(*) The second world is the Violet Plains, the third world is the North Pole, alternate world three is the Mirage Forest, world four are the Crystal Falls and the rest are TBD.
(*) Yoshi will be a part of this hack, as will Feathers, but I've applied the Perfect Flight Disable Patch, and I've yet to find a good place to introduce Yoshi; anything?
(*) I drew the Lobstermen on my own, which is why they look like crap; sorry. X0
(*) I just noticed the Bridge to the Fort in World 1 is cutoff; I'm fixing it now.

I'm quite glad to see that Waluigi is still getting some attention from the hacking community. Great idea on your part! However, I think that the current OverWorld's land masses could use some ledges, and that a lot of the colors just look too bright (included the white outline on those ledges, yuck), so if I were you I'd probably make those colors a lot fuller (that's my opinion at least). I'm quite excited to see more!

\/ I fixed the White outline and added a Wrecked Ship and some wierd Moss-like crap to the Sea.

(You can't see the ship in the first and second world b/c I disabled Layer 1 for the Screenie

Now, I know World Two is REALLY angled, but that's just something I wanted to do; I'm not going to change it, because I find it kinda different, y'know? There IS a secret in the middle of that 90-degree donut, BTW.

World 3/Alternate 3 will have the ledges, and so will the Crystal Falls, so don't you all fret.

I also have Bonus Houses hidden across my Hack, each holding something similar to Mushroom Kingdom Meltdown's Bonus Houses, wgere you jump up ledges to either a 3Up Moon, a Powerup, or a single moving coin, and the levels cannot be entered after they have been used.

And I've decided World 5 will be a Volcano area, World 6 will be Spooky... something, World 7 will be the final area and there shall be a bonus world, of course.

1) I meant to do that; Again, I thought it'd be different. Not all of my OW is going to be like that.

2) The icebergs' colors are off b/c of palette changing, so that's not possible. :-/

Please don't use perfectly square land it's not different it's bland and boring, it has no appeal and looks like no effort was put into it also I would change it from purple to something else. As for the other OW it's also kind of bland it needs more decoration like ice bergs. I know you said you changed the palette so they don't work but you still have the option to recolor them in yy-chr to make them work you could also make them look more like rocks that way.

one more thing IMO making islands out of the default OW tiles don't work think about it how many places can you think of that goes from grass to ocean? Not very many.

Doesn't seem a lot LarryMatt however, it doesn't make it bad.

I'm afraid I can't do that Fox ninjaboy; The purple-ish palette fits with the ExGFX I'm using. Plus... I want to keep it purple. XD

I'm going to change the second world into the Purple Islands. Hm... sounds like a Kirby stage, doesn't it?

@LarryMatt101: About a month, not counting the two weeks when I was busy Super Metroid hacking; boy do I regret it. X0 I work quite fast, with having plenty of time on my hands, so I'm bound to get the demo done within the end of the month.

And about my OW not being up high, I personally think that the ledges make the OW look like... like freaking mountains, aye? The first world isn't up high, so I made it "Ground level".

EDIT: I have a new screenie of the updated OW. I've added new FX1 items, like the boat and a Tree I've yet to use. I'll use it in... the Forest, I should think.

I like the idea of a waluigi hack. You tend to see wario hacks alot but I hope this sparks of others to make hacks featuring the purple plumber. B)

Nice work, the pallettes are funky. The OW could do with some improvements.

The purple pallete is fine to me. In the top right of the 1st OW picture, the iceburgs are placed a bit weirdly.

I'd have to second LarryMatt on his opinions of the OverWorld's purple. I'd either change it, or the water and/or ledge colors to fit it more, because it just doesn't look like it fits in that well...

However, I really like the map design itself with all of the islands. Great job on that!

Alright, I'll edit the palette, but I am keeping it some color of purple. What should I do to edit the palette, because I have no idea how to make it work.

What, darken/lighten the purple or the sea? Or what?

I personally would change the ledge's color to make it fit more with the purple, but that's just what I would do (Btw, any particular reason it's purple? Just curious).
