Wow. Cool boss! I can not imagine how a person who has invested so much time on a hack give up and stop.
I'll start looking for more interesting things in Mario Fantasy. It should have much things to discover yet.

***EDIT: FIXED LINK***
Mario Fantasy Tech demos
Thanks Logup! I can't wait to play it!

@upaluppa
That boss looks alot like it's from Brutal Mario...
The Game
You just lost.
=O DKC boss, it looks abit more "DKC"ish in this one than Brutal Mario, but, honestly, where do you find these bosses!?

MiOr is odd, he macks a ZOMFG! hack, and then is like "nah, Don't wanna hack even tho I might make the best hack, ever."

Gah.

It' boss from DKC, if you didn't get that ^_^

...And, Carol sure is taking his time, well, alot have been done, like, A shop system, Level System, Timer, auto save on map, etc..

The only reason Mario Fantasy could be the best hack ever is if he put in more effort into the actual level design. Yes, the hack has great ASM, but the level design is pretty boring.

... Even though there could be a possibility he made it to test ASM stuff or something.

--------------------
Good fucking bye.
The level design is boring because it's basically a tech demo, it's Romi/Mior/whoever showing off the ASM they coded, rather than a functioning game. There are actually some levels, albeit not accessible usually that have decent enough level design, but mainly it's all boss tests and what not.

Which is a pity, since I'd love to play a game in the style of the demos with proper levels.

Although to be harsh, carol's ACTUAL level design in Brutal Mario is ironically worse than Mior's tech demos.

I found some interestings thing in miordemo.ips
It seems that is one of the demos with more things edited:

Well, this hack seems for me that it is really just to show Romi's ASM and HDMA knowledge. It was good to know.
Wow, that looks just amazing. I'll have to check this out soon. Props, Romi!
meh
Boom Boom? Dr Wily? Dumb Drum? Jeez, I wonder if they're different to carol's versions or carol just borrowed them from Romi/vice versa? The first pic, is that the guard character from Donkey Kong Country 2, at the entrance to the Lost World?

And what's the Boo meant to be, Bigger Boo?

Erm... your level values are all off when I try playing the same demos. For me, most of the bosses are at around the level 5X mark, not the 2X to 3X mark.

I'm using the same demos I got from here.

Since I have already been asked for an explanation on the RAM hack I posted about:

Simply load up your Mario Fantasy ROM in the snes9x emulator and then go to "Cheat" in the emulator menu.

There you select the first entry "Game Genie, ...".

Ok, now you'll get this window:
http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/313/unbenanntdn.png

1. Enter the code in the same way I did into that field. (the 02 at the end is the XX, aka the room)

2. Click on "Add" to add your cheat code to the list.

3. Make sure you check that little box to enable the cheat.

4. Click on "Ok" and you're done.

5. Now reset your emulator and the cheat code should start working in your game!

6. Enter the "Sample" Stage from the OW screen to play the room chosen by that cheat code!

Note:
I have noticed that this code does not always work correctly, it sometimes loads a wrong room...

So I have looked for a few alternate codes which work in a similar way!

If you have trouble with the code I posted try one of these:

009CB1XX
This code replaces the Intro Stage (The screen with the welcome message shown when you start a new game).

Simply choose a room to use with the code and start a new game!
When the Intro Screen normally appears your room will load instead!

Here's another one:

05DBAAXX
This one replaces the Flying Yoshi Bonus Stage.
(The fast scrolling air level with the fuzzies which you'll play when Yoshi collects the rare flying wings Item.

This one is the best of all three codes because it works ALWAYS, no matter what!

However it is a bit more tedious to use, because there are no Yoshi Wings in Mario Fantasy...

To counter this use that code in combination with this one:
EECD-AF6F

This code makes you enter the Flying Yoshi Bonus Stage immediately as soon as any level starts (either title screen demo, intro or actual gameplay)!

(This is a Game Genie Code, but you enter it in exactly the same way as the RAM codes)

Just copy&paste the code into that box in the cheat window and proceed as usual!
Alright, my blog entry with a run down of all about the game is done:

http://dsultimate.net/Board/upload/blog/1/entry-1368-mario-fantasy-exploring-the-hidden-levels/

I've found some other neat stuff in the ExGFX files after using YYCHR.
