Tip: Take advantage of easy to install Patches in your hack. For example, the Classic Piranha Plant fix should be considered if you are planning to insert that sprite in your hack.
Facebook has it right, doesn't it? Wouldn't it be nice to be able to see when somebody has posted with a text string containing your username, with something you posted in a quote, or in a thread you've posted? It would be to you convenience as you can more easily continue a discussion without relentlessly going back to the thread to see if anyone responded to your post or not?
I think this might have been mentioned before, and it would be a good idea. Only problem is if there are a billion people posting and you get a hundred notifications.
Most of people in this site are too lazy to write the whole username, so they use abreviations like CP for captain pissweak or dots for dotsarecool. So I don't realy see the point on doing that since you would still need to check the threads too see if anyone used an abrev. Not to mention kieran still needs to correct the bugs in the forum, I don't think he has time for new features.
I'm not arguing that Kieran's time frame for doing stuff is very limited, but if there's ever an open moment for adding such a feature, couldn't the whole abbreviation thing be solved by adding tags to stuff that relates to you that you could get notified on? (shortened names, hacks, etc.) I see it as being it the "Edit Profile" section. Any thoughts on that?
