edit @ below: The grinders arent rotating two ways, infact, the actual grinder in-game is x and y flipped, just like the floor grinders.

Also, Lava over water vice-versa has to do with the boss, who defies the laws of physics. This is the first half of the first room, 2 more rooms are going to be added that defy more physics and stuff.

It looks like you put a lot of work into this: it's amazing! I really like the palettes on the title screen and castle level. Just a few minor gripes.

Water over lava or vice-versa just doesn't make that much sense. I know there's really no way around it aside from redesigning the level, but it just looks bizarre.

The grinders that are stuck in the ground seem to be rotating in two directions at once. You're going to have to make two different ExAnimation slots, one playing in reverse relative to the other.

That's all I could spot; you're doing great work here, fireblade.

ANYWAYS this is phase one of world 7's boss. The way the story-line goes, it makes you think that this is the "Final" Boss, but it isn't. This is only phase one. You can stop watching after the boss is defeated, as I just kept it going because I liked the music =P


as for the on/off earthquake, its supposed to be a full-on earthquake, however the YT frame rate F***** it up. Way to go YouTube!

I Am The Beta Tester Of This I Asked Him A While Ago And He Said I Could! But It Looking Good! Amazing Looking Boss (I Probably Wont Be Able To Beat The Boss Looks Quite Dificult!)
Cliffside Castle looks awesome, but if I were you I'd make it join up with the previous version of it, the version before this revamped update... You know, with the urchins and such...

The Dark Star boss looks amazing, but it seems a little too easy for the first phase of the final boss. The music is incredible, and the samples really bring out the epic quality of the music and the boss.

Also, what's with the BiS Mario Clone at Yoshi's House? Does it have to do with the storyline? Or is it just for kicks?

Finally, can I beta test this? I've beta tested a lot of hacks in the past, and most of the time I get all of the errors, if not at least 97% of them...

Thanks! Unfortuneatly, I deleted that first section, but I can always get it back, no problem. Grand total of 3 beta testers now. (World 1 beta testing is ALMOST ready)

also: its not the final boss, theres 8 worlds this is world 7 boss. Oh, and believe me it is NOT easy!!! (especially the chasing part, I havent gotten through that one without taking a hit yet)

Am I Beta Testing?
Alright, so I had all this stuff I wanted to tell you guys, but my computer decided to be an asshole.

Attempt #1: Internet goes down as soon as I submit it
Attempt #2: I hit my computers power button with my knee.

So yeah, blame my computer for not getting to here the awesome stuff I have planned right now.


What I WILL say though is this, The little Mario Clone guy is a big part of the storyline, he is the one who speaks to you through the message boxes, however he starts playing a major role near end-game.

I'll type the rest that I had planned to tell you all when I'm done being pissed at my computer.

Looks good so far! But there's a slight problem with that boss in my opinion, it seems to easy for the second-last boss and too hard for a lowly ranked boss. Perhaps place an obstacle of some sort in the battle arena to make it harder?

Also; I noticed that that Mario Clone guy keeps walking left (or at least it seems that way) and then he runs into an invisible barrier. Does he turn around/stand still or does he infinitely walk into a wall?

Also, let me ashure you that the boss is HARD. I cant get past it without atleast taking one hit. Also, this is only phase 1. And If I raise/lower the ground at any point, the lightning may cut-off in midair.

What about ground which is passable for sprites? That can be used, although I'll admit that it's far from an ideal solution.

known bugs: slowdown if 5 or more sattellites are on screen at once. Sending this to mah beta testers since bosses tend to be buggy.

ALL beta testers MUST post on this thread stating that they will not steal any content from this hack, and if done so, I have the right to alert mods that you stole from me without permission. I cant stop you from stealing ideas, but its mainly the custom sprites I made. I am also considering releasing the vertical bg scroll sprite, but considering the only thing I did was copy-paste code, and it is also only 5 lines, I'm kinda against it.


NOTE: Theres always a full-on earthquake, the YT frame rate just screwed it up. It is not shown in the video, but touching the flaming parts hurt you.

Looks nice. Although, you could make the enviroment there a bit darker (example: night, more decoration if possible, etc.). :)
Before I start talking about the boss, I think it would be smart to tell you that you misspelled "hear" in Bro Bot 3.6's dialogue... :\

Anyway, the boss looks fantastic so far, and I love the idea of how the arena shatters and starts losing it's gravitational pull as it starts plummeting through the open air at a drastic pace towards the oncoming ground below. If that is the idea you had in mind, I'd make some more GFX for the ground Mario stands on with holes and tears in it, so it's like those pieces of ground just separated from each other and are conveniently floating in mid-air next to each other.

Overall it looks fantastic, but I'd still recommend making some separate GFX for the teared-apart falling pieces of ground.
(I have a feeling I expected too much of the situation. #w{=P})
