Great news. I'll probably participate this time, I'll just have to save time for the level, and get some ideas...but that won't be a problem, as usual.

This is going to be fun! Plus, SCORPION and I aren't pulling something from anything we already made, but it is going to have some relation to our current hack. Which means, some humorous story, it's humorous because it's with Hunter and SCORPION. No, it won't be TOO long of a level, but it will be long.

What are the judging categories going to on this time around? I read back during Rao's LP of Vanilla 10 that the judging was going to be readjusted for future contests (from either SNN or FP), though that might only apply to the Vanilla contest.

Sure, why not. Now with ASM KNOWLEDGE! I know I'm not going to win, but I certainly hope raocow will play all of the entries. I'd like to see him play mine.

For the record folks: keep in mind that every aspect of the level will be judged. There is a reason I didn't list the specific criteria, and that is because I want to see what people will make of it this time around.

Take every aspect into consideration when designing your level.

Don't act surprised if people start to show some hostility your way because of the way you're acting. It's getting quite annoying to see especially when someone is buying into their own hype. You think that "You and Fuggnutz are gonna kick everyone else's asses?" Fine, good for you two. Put your money where your mouth is and make a level that "proves" it.

Hmm... this could be a great way to show how much I know. The competition sounds pretty strong, and I like it. What I don't like is the fact, that even though I'll be using homemade graphics, I might still come in dead last.

Ah well. I've still got plenty of time before it's due. Of course I can't drop my other projects either. (MLM, etc.) So we'll see what it's like. Hey, as long as I fun, it what counts for my first contest.

I'm sorry if this counts as discussion but isn't there a rule that states you can't use a level you've made before the competition as your entry?

People, specifically SCORPION, Cypher, Tails155 (There was one more in the Vanilla 10 contest too, but the name escapes me.) have pulled levels straight from their main projects and entered them for this contest as a means of some extra publicity. I'm pretty sure making an entry for this contest months in advance is allowed. (I've been planning mine out for quite some time, actual LM design progress started last night.)

@MrDeePay: I did that level a while ago, just not to forget to participate in this event. So, now I have it and I should link it.

Good luck to all those that are entering. I really hope people make their levels really innovative... as some are.

Yes, MGH and I are going to do a spin off of the current hack (The Crater) we are working on as the level. You get to play as Hunter and SCORPION as they try to solve some problem that is going on during the construction of the _______. That is pretty much all there is to it. We are still trying to figure out how to use MarioExGFX with the 32x32 Tilemap patch though...

Cool. I wonder if I can submit something that looks deceptively like a vanilla level.
