TSRP2R! [v2.2 released]

If you are going to continue working on this, great. I would personally love to play a remake of TSRP2, it's one of the very few lengthy hacks I actually enjoyed. Like others said though, it was a bit too hard - especially the last few levels so it would be nice if you make them a little less harder. Also, am I the only one who liked the SMAS music that went with it? Sounded very fitting to me, but yeah custom music would still be pretty cool to have.

Definitely looking forward to this. Judging from the screenshot you provided, I definitely see a lot of potential in this. Good luck with it ;)
As I said, I'll keep some of the SMAS-music in it. ;)
When it comes to the difficulty level, I will tone the difficulty down a little bit but not too much - I'll try to keep things fair, though. If I'm not mistaken, it's now possible to add more than one midway points to levels, right? If yes, this might be perfect for this hack, too, since most of the later levels are very, very long...

So... that's more like it:

I'm not too sure about adding "Reloaded" to it somewhere, I regret I did this for the first part already. :p I think I stick to the original title for this one and call it v1.3 or probably even 2.0, but I won't add that to the title screen either.

One question, what is the First reality project?

what

The First Reality is Mario's world.
Good fucking bye.
I didn't really read all of that [sorry!] because I have a short attention span, but... If you're talking about making TSRP2R or TSRP3 a collab hack, I'd love to join in if I got a base ROM.

That's looking pretty nice, but I did sort of like the deep greens of the original; they make it look just a bit different from your standard Mario grassland, which helps heighten the idea of this being another dimension, right at the start of the game. Or maybe I've just gotten to used to the idea that the first image is how Goomba Garden is "supposed" to look and am thus speaking nonsense, who knows?
Damn, wish I had that kind of title screen creativity, you should help me out with that when I decide to recharge Hunter's Revenge 2

I love the series you've created, FPI. An early demo of TSRP2 was the first SMW hack I ever played. TSRP1 was fantastic. It defines SMW-hack-classic. Personally, I didn't think a remake was needed. Though TSRPR was balls-to-the-wall awesome. Now, TSRP2R, no. In my opinion, that's not needed.

Sure, this;

looks cool, and having custom music would pretty cool as well I guess, but it's pretty un-needed. It's just like the "special editions" of the original star wars trilogy. Sure you have the resources, but why improve something that's all ready great?

On the topic of TSPR3, I know it will come before this, IF you decide to do TSRP2R that is; however I think it would delay TSRP3 if you're working on another project simultaneously, no matter how much you promise, it will happen. Personally, if you decide to do anything AFTER TSRP3, I think you should do something like a prequel before a remake. Maybe call it "The First Reality Project," that'd be pretty cool.

Just my thoughts.
I really think FPI SHOULD continue on this, otherwise, in story developement, the story won't make since. So, yeah.

I do personally like the idea of toning down the difficulty, though, and pure SMAS music is just bleh to me. Some of FPI's composed music would be VERY nice for this. #w{=9}
Good fucking bye.

I agree, although there is a solution IMO. I'm working on 2 hacks at a time now, and I like to keep updated as I work on one project for 2 days, then work on the other for the next 2 days. It's a kinda rotor.

That does sound cool except for the fact that the First Reality you're referring to is THE original Mario world. By that standard, I think TSRP1 took care of that.
Nonetheless, it DOES sound like an interesting concept.

I really liked this new TSRP2R title screen. One thing, actually you're right: It will not make sense to have the complete trilogy, and the second version has a different style from the others.
If you can develop this second version, then this Second Reality Project will be the biggest hack of the world, since these hacks will have three stories that intertwine.
At first, I was uncertain that this was necessary, and in some ways I still do. TSRP2 really didn't have anything bad going for it at the time it was made. Sure, today it looks a bit dated, but its level design and creativity are as expertly shown off today as they were when it was first released. However, after seeing these two shots of what you could do by remaking 2 to fit the series better, I think it's something you should go ahead and do.

I can tell consistency is important to you and I think that you probably would go ahead and do this whether or not you asked us for opinions. You said yourself that you weren't happy with the way the story was presented in 2, hinting that you really wanted to change it. So i think you should definitely go through with the project in addition to TSRP3. Though you don't have to do it alone, like you suggested.

Since TSRP2R would be a sprucing-up of the original, there's no need to change level designs or anything like that. You could easily have another person or persons work with you to make the hack's refurbishing go by quicker. And with LM's new tools, it would be easy to paste all those new objects and graphics over the original levels.
Here's an idea regarding the music in TSRP2R.

Note: If you plan on composing all the songs, just ignore this suggestion.

I can NOT find the words to say it without sounding like Dinomar so I'll just give you an example: (Levels w/ SMB3 graphics: SMB3 music; etc.)

Woah. Just plain epicness in the idea... NOT!#w{=P}

TSRP2R is very interesting!!
But in that remake,contains the same soundtrack of TSRPR??

Because something that needs improvement, needs improvement. LOL.

However, I am under the impression that with todays standards, TSRP2 would be pushed down the toilet. I believe a remake would fit really well. There is nothing wrong with refurbishing a hack... I mean like... I'm doing it. (and not because I have to... mostly)

Otherwise, I believe the Second Reality should have a couple of the tracks from TSRPR, to fit in with the Reloaded a little bit more, otherwise, use of the songs from the First Reality in the Second Reality would be a big no-no... to me.

... Ummm, I assume the composed music is completely new for obvious reasons. #w{:s}
Good fucking bye.
First FPI said that TSRPR2 don't make anythingh with TSRP3 progress. So i think that this remake could be great. First, because this is one of the great SMW hacks here but has some flaws like the SMAS music and some glitched graphics. Second, because there are new stuff that could be used in this project like custom bosses, blocks, sprites...
Third, because the plot needs to link TSRPR with TSRP3.

And that screenshot looks awesome!
