The most SMW Custom Overused/Underused Sprites

(If this isn't the correct place for this, please notice me where this tread will be moved)

What do you think that is the most Overused and Underused SMW Custom sprite? Why?

And an extra question about the underused sprite that you chosen, what do you think that It could be a solution for that sprite for not be underused anymore?

OVERUSED:Mouser, 'cause he is a boss, and all the people want some new bosses in their hack, so, this boss is the boss of overused bosses...,also, this guy appears in almost every hack that I've played

UNDERUSED:SMB1 goomba(the one that comes with sprite tool),sadly, this one is underused to the EXTREME,because everybody edit the original one and make it squishable, remplacing this one and trashing it somewhere, but editing it means that you cannot use the rounded goomba anymore.(actually, you can, but only the wingless form)

A possible solution for this guy is...

Winged SMB1 goomba, the 99 percent of the people swap this one for the original(with squishable edits)cause it doesn't exist a flying version for it.(Is about time that somebody make one)

Comments?
Overused for me is the Thwomp Boss, alot of hacks tend to have it.

Underused is the Whistlin Chuck, I however use it alot in my hacks. :D
OVERUSED

Thwomp Boss - I'm sick to fucking death of fighting this boss all the time. I've already faced it about 425725923857 times and it's just getting tedious throwing the same fucking Bob-omb hoping it will explode in its face. However, I recently played a hack where there was one that could get hurt by Shells which was better.
The creator himself admitted that he was getting sick of seeing it used so often if I recall.

Mouser - I thought it was cool to see him used but now that I've faced him so many times it's just so boring. It's especially annoying when I throw a Bob-omb up to him and it smacks into another one.

Bowser - Not custom but I'm sick of the same SMW final boss. Now I'm forced to stop playing everytime I get to that.

Don't know about underused since I haven't used many custom sprites.
Great. Now what am I gonna use in my hack at this rate? I have Mouser and a planned Thwomp boss in the form of a Press from Cave Story! Dagnabbit!
Your layout has been removed.

You can do it, but we won't like it.

You know, if you really think about, I don't see Rex in hacks that often. idk? I think that anything lightning/thunder related may actually be overused, even though not seen in publicized hacks. You could check how many times a sprites been downloaded you know.
Hey, I'm Riot. I used to use this website a lot but it has been quite a while since I've been a part of it. Help me out with any of the changes; it'd be much appreciated.
Coin game cloud, I actully just thought about this one as it was rare in the orignal SMW and tbh, I havent seen it all in hacks.

...

I hate you.
Good fucking bye.
Any reason why you hate me?
Or is the fact you hate the chucks, haha
It's the Chucks.

They're in practically every hack I've played, and I find them annoying as hell, MAINLY BECAUSE THEY WAKE UP MY LEAST FAVORITE MARIO ENEMY EVER!
Good fucking bye.

Not NEARLY underused enough.

Overused original SMW sprites: How can original SMW sprites be overused?
Underused original SMW sprites: Sumo Brother, creating/eating block, dark room sprite, Layer 3 Smash, sprite in bubble, goal sphere (yes), orange platform that goes on forever, Mechakoopa, Fishbone. The Sumo Brother, dark room sprite, orange platform, and Mechakoopa are probably the most underused of those.
Original SMW sprites that aren't really overused but sure FEEL like it: Pitchin' Chuck, Fishin' Boo. Those things are so freaking annoying.

Overused custom sprites: I don't know. I'd have to agree with the custom bosses, though. Other sprites are just used a lot because there were so common in the original game, like Shyguys.
Underused custom sprites: Goal sphere, Timed Lifts, P-switches, Palenemy Lakitu, and most dynamic sprites. I swear I haven't seen a single hack that uses the YI winged item cloud, Ball 'n' Chain, Blowhard, Piranha Fish, or Bullet Bill blaster.
Custom sprites that aren't really overused but sure FEEL like it: Boss Bass, Deadweight Bro, homing Bullet Bill. See note before.

----------------

I'm working on a hack! Check it out here. Progress: 64/95 levels.

Not to fear. As soon as C3 comes around, there will be at least 4 maybe 5 if I can get to working on Boom-Boom bosses at your fingertips to use.

The Haunted Kackle:You are making a Boom Boom?I hope that can be customizable, like how to choose if the Boom Boom fly or not.

Clown Dentist:The creating/eating block could be overused if it exist a possibility to edit his path, because is hardcored.

Boss Bass will have justice, cause I'm using it in my hack.#w{=)}

Sorry Shady Dakress, I'm not skilled enough to make it custom (I know Sprite States are the best way to do it) but if I can pull it off I will most likely make two different sprites.

Here are my bosses so far:

The Haunted Kackle, your bosses are great, but i noticed something that all of them share in common, when they trow a sprite, the upper tiles are like cutted, strinked, something like the mouser does when he trows a sprite, thats why I alwaws check how the sprites uses his graphics.
I also suggest that the wendy ring could die dissapearing in a puff of smoke.

Please, if you can, fix this issue.

Yeah...off topic post.
Those where awesome...release them soon...WE NEED NEW BOSSES AROUND HERE!!!
If anyone needs help with custom Character GFX,PM me.
<Note> You will have to have a progress thread in order for me to work on GFX for you.No random requests.

Every original SMW sprite is technically overused, but Bowser is sure as hell repetitive to fight after battling him at the end of practically every completed hack. Especially in hacks like the Luigi's Adventure series where it feels really anticlimatic.
Good fucking bye.
They all will be released at C3. Just a little under 3 weeks from now

Overused:

Thwomp Boss. Consider dahnamics (The Haunted Kackle now? Damn, I despise halloween gimmick names) made a far better one that also generates spinies, hopping flames and Koopas with wings, the old one by yoshicookiezeus is not only boring, but also a tad obsolete.

Mouser: Meh. The fact it's bombs have sprite collision detection makes it a poor copy of the SMB 2 boss, and the fight a whole lot more difficult. Plus, most rooms with the boss are badly designed.

Ptooie Piranhas: Sorry Metalgearhunter/SCORPION, who I think LOVE to overuse these standard dynamic sprites. They're a decent enemy, but not in every other level, and certainly not as mini bosses.

SMW bosses: Sorry guys, there's a reason games like the Lost Levels do awful sales and popularity wise, and that's because games reusing all the resources from a past game are generally a bad idea.

And if I see Iggy ever again, he won't live to tell the tale. If I ever saw him in real life, heh, he wouldn't last ten seconds before I had his head stuck on the wall.

Sideways/Maverick (spelling?) Thwomps: I like them, but they're extremely predictable now, and except in certain cases with good level design, are about as easy to spot as traditional Thwomps. Not saying that's a bad thing, all the sprites above can be used well remember.

Not quite overused but so poorly implemented it may as well be:

Marine/Sky Pop: Great concept, horrific execution. SMKdan (I think) did a great job as far as coding skills go, but these sprites are too damn slow, fire near useless projectiles and seem to be a favourite of all featured hacks to use somewhere. The hit detection is completely broken as well.

Homing Bullet Bill: God these are annoyingly common. Funny, considering it's me who overuses them most (half my custom bosses fire homing Bullet Bills I think). Even I hate my own sprite choice now.

Underused:

Any bosses dahnamics has ever made. Great sprites, pity hardly anyone uses them (and yet they still use that freaking Thwomp Boss).

Albatoss Bomber boss: I've yet to really see anyone using this outside a few obscure Japanese hacks. It might be a decent boss, although it needs better detection of walls.

Blargg boss: Getting there in popularity, but sadly not quite a mainstray yet.

Giant sprites: I see Goombas, Koopas and Sledge Bros, with maybe a few Shy Guys and Snifits here and there, but sadly no one really seems to use the giant Fireball, the giant Eerie, the 64 x 64 Mega Mole, the large but not quite Banzai Bill or the giant Springboard. Pity, these have some interesting uses.

Nitrous Crate: Okay, I'm not sure how useful it is, but I've pretty much never seen one of these in a hack. Surely someone has a use for it?

NSMB Inspired Shell: How is this good gimmick going unused?

Dangerous Metroid: This is a great sprite, and way better than the boring other Metroid sprite, but sadly few people seem to use it.

Is there some 'download fifty custom sprites in a pack' file someone that explains why about half the Youtube hacks use the same sprites, music, graphics etc? I've kinda always wondered why certain things get used far more than others.

As for Mario's Nightmare Quest? Well, it's currently on Fusion Gameworks, ROM Hacking.net or the GCN at the moment.

Good point with the Giant sprites. If somebody is going to create a giant world, make sure that one uses all the Giant sprites. That would be interesting.

The Blargg boss is incredibly difficult and honestly ackward to defeat. Don't know what the author would think, but if its ok with the author I might design one that you throw objects at it instead of spin-jumping.
