There are some of them still active, yes. The ones doing the JDLC (read some posts above in the previous page about it), unless the project is cancelled I guess they still count as active.

I stumbled upon these ports while looking at the source site for some of Show's (mymario) hacks yesterday. I'm not sure if these have been "discovered" yet, but here they are regardless.

Hey, guys, someone can fix https://www.dropbox.com/s/8kpbxowc8hmbetq/Kirby3_5-6.rar?dl=0 this JP port and send here, please, i need very of this JP Port
And the name of this port is: Iceberg - Kirby's Dreamland 3. and this porter is oL7G5poF4c
Looking over the text file, this was definitely intended for an older version of AddMusic - but fortunately, you don't really need to fix it. If you want a fully sampled port of this particular song, there's already an improved port by tcdw here.

i have this but isn't japanese
Super SIG World 39 save file with everything completed. This is supposedly the last hack of SIG since he is retiring from the hacking scene, i don't know if this is true tho

Looks like there are now five people who beat the final level of the original Luigi's Adventure:
https://youtu.be/-0VDXJ5zOkY?t=1324

From what I could find, three of the previous completions of this level have video, and another person who claimed they completed it sometime back has video of everything up to the final level, and being that close to beating an insanely difficult Mario hack I would assume that it would make perfect sense to just play out one more level. So as it stands, this 9 room level with no midpoints (whereas the easier Overseas Edition version has a midpoint halfway through) has now been legitimately beaten by aha man, bolop, Metballs, shovda, and me.
Holy shit, that's insane. I've heard about this level but never actually watched (nor played) it. Congrats man!

Congratulations!

Room 5 looked especially bothersome and difficult. The level overall reminds me of the Depraved Stronghold from JUMP, but longer. I wonder if Jolpengammler got any inspiration from this.

I suppose if I am ever looking for a serious challenge, I'll play the original version of Luigi's Adventure.
Speaking of Challanging Japanese Levels i Always Remember The Last Level from the Secret World in Hyper 6 That was Pure Hell to Solve or Memorial Service Tempest Had many Hard Levels to :D

Honestly after replaying it recently, on the whole the difficulty stems from really bad design rather then from intentionally challenging elements; in a lot of ways it was probably better left a memory. The only real reason to play it is if you're just REALLY into old jp hacks or are a kuso connoisseur, and hey if that's your thing by all means enjoy the trek through hell lol

I was really only interested in Bowser's Castle, so I downloaded the original version of the hack and blasted through the whole thing (with cheats). Even using cheats (because I just wanted to beat Bowser's Castle), I could tell that the game suffers from awful design choices. I would have gone mad playing through most levels, especially after World 3.

Just because beating Bowser's Castle was too plain and simple for me, I decided to give myself a nice masochistic challenge and beat the whole level without taking damage. (Section 5, the magikoopa one, is really rough.) I haven't actually completed this challenge yet, but I did get very close one time.

i died on the vanilla bowser fight at the very end of the ten-section level #tb{:)}

that bowling ball will haunt me forever...

I'm still going to work towards actually beating the level entirely, but you could say that I did legitimately beat the actual "level" part that Anikiti designed themselves. With that being said, I believe I am the first and only person to beat the "level" portion of Bowser's Castle without taking damage (or collecting any powerups).

Just as a safety net for next time so I don't look like a fool on the Bowser fight, I'll probably grab the mushroom Peach throws out. A no damage run could still be possible doing this, but regardless I'd rather just beat the level rather than die at the Bowser fight again.

You Seem to Like Masochistic Challanges but Asuming that somehow Bowsers Castle is in the Ose Version to they found it not as the Difficoultest the One who doesnt Apear in the Newer Version The Dungeon with The Toads that one has Evilness Pure to :D

By the way its not an Smw hack but if you Like Masochistic Challanges Have you Ever Heard of Mikes Fun House thats a Zelda Classic Quest that has cost me Over 400 Lives before i could Beat it :D
