A Random Hack I was working on...

Yes, yes it is a boss based on Mad Jack from Donkey Kong 64. I made it for another hack, and I reused it here because it was cool.

And thanks, I try to convey a certain mood with each background (well, set, each level has multiple areas with their own backgrounds based on geography of the area).

As for Mario's Nightmare Quest? Well, it's currently on Fusion Gameworks, ROM Hacking.net or the GCN at the moment.
:O CHEAT IS YOU MAKING A HACK ON YOUR OWN?! You're growing up so fast.
Anyway this looks pretty... uhhh... clustered... I was happy until you added the redrawn graphics but now my sadness is enveloping my soul in a way that cannot be described by mere words. This looks a lot like a test hack...
I'm only using redrawn graphics for about one room and the characters/sprites (bar the bosses). Don't worry about them. It's also not a test hack.

I've now added some new music, like Mario and Luigi Bowser's Inside Story final boss, another final boss music piece, Fear Factory from Donkey Kong Country, Lockjaw's Saga from the second game, Lost World theme for the first game and various other pieces.

Glitches in level 1 have been fixed to much of a degree, all palettes fixed, vertical scrolling enabled in some levels where it was missing.

The bonus rooms also generally now have the Donkey Kong Country 2 bonus music.

A new background (foreground level is disabled in the screenshot).

Part of a fortress level (needs map16 fixes).

Part of the only water level.

Thoughts?

Cool BG here. Is this a bonus room?

Thank you! I hate water levels!
Kinda. It's for room 2 of the switch palace level.

And yes, the underwater level (well, part of it) has the only water found in the game that you actually have to swim in (the castle has some for decoration purposes).

I assume that the bricks in the background are tile 4?

There are some really cool ideas here, and I like a lot of what you've done. New graphics always turn me off, but compared to that I still like a lot of the atmospheres you have been able to create with your levels.

Rotodiscs need new GFX, though...
Still here, I guess. Despite all odds.
I kinda also meant the Mario graphics not just the enemy ones but oh well it's looking good.

I'm not sure what tile they are, I got the background off of the graphics download list here and used the background from the custom level included.

As for the roto dics... oddly enough, I added the changed custom graphics for them and the firebars, but I don't think the creator actually bothered to change the graphics in the file he/she uploaded to the resources section here.

alternate Castle graphics must be popular here... I used it in my hack. or are you using SMW: redrawn?
I used the default graphics from redrawn, but not very often.

I only use redrawn when I can't get any other foreground from the graphics section to work alongside the background I've chosen.
